    have a 10Tb connection? a RAID array of about 40 420Mbps should be able to handle it with little problem. I say 40000 because you can't have 24966.095238095238095238095238095 drives, 25000 is sloppy, 30000 doesn't seem right, and furthermore, there is read/write overhead, fragmentation, and seek time to think about as well, so 40000 240Mbps drives would give you 16.8Tbps in a perfect world, but in the real world, closer to 10Tbps.

    Who has that kind of dough, though? Microsoft, and, I'm sure, several web hosts. The logistical problem is the actual building of a RAID array that large, the amount of RAM needed in the server running the array simply does not exist right now.

    distortion and coloring are created by poorly-made or overdriven tubes.

    using well-made tubes and keeping them within spec will yield much lower levels os distortion than any transistor could ever hope to reach!

    err... you can't.

    Your microwave contains a component called a magneton. This is a tube.

    As well, the display on your VCR, microwave, whatever, if it looks like LCD, but glows, is an array of tubes.

    Did I mention that the CCD on you DV camera, digital camera, video camera, and/or HDTV camera is a TUBE?! (if it's of any quality)

    Why? Because a well made tube (yes, it must be well made to make a difference) just produces a higher quality signal!

    forgive my lack of research and trusing in my government officials upon stating that although it is the best in the world, it should have been inproved years ago, and since it was no, it failed massively.

    by many, it is viewed to be the best in how it handles changes in demand and the speed with which repairs can be made when needed.

    My point was, however, not that the US has the best of everything. Nobody has the best of everything. It is a fact that the US power grid is viewed by many to be the best in the world for the above-mentioned reasons.

    Yes, it can be improved. As well it should. That was the point I was trying to make.

    Somebody please kick my ass for further feeding this troll.

    okay, a tube can create a pure sine wave, whereas a transistor will ALWAYS have a gap between the minimum voltage it lets through and 0.

    Perhaps I'm not explaining it too clearly, but I feel out of contact with the guy who once explained it to me, so I can't full well have him explain it again for you, now can I?!
