You're right. I wasn't replying to you. I was replying to the guy pretending to be you and claimed it was more than one job.
He also implied that he is a member of a minority. Is he at fault for, "being a whining victim", as you put it?
I don't think there's anything wrong with it, you can bet your ass a good many people believe see them as their inferiors.
Definitely true, and my point is that a lot of people also see skinny, pretty, white women as inferior ("She's pretty, therefore she must be dumb.")
You can believe I'm a racist all you want,
I don't, it was an offhand remark. I'm sorry about that.
just like I can believe (and with good conviction) that you couldn't get the point if you fell on a bed of needles.
No, I got your point, I'd just like to augment it by adding that: racism is universal.
I'm more inclined to believe you were just being dishonest by intentionally presenting asserting a falicous conclusion.
I assure you that the only conclusion I came to from my experience is that racism can happen to anyone.
If you want to blatently lie and present misleading arguments to try and win your argument, then I'd like to forwarn you that I will not let you get away with any bullshit.
Well, you have to at least give me the chance to defend myself. Which thing is it that I said that you think is a lie?
but since you're not the guy pretending to be you, I really couldn't give a shit.
The poster obviously thought you were making a reference to his post. He said that he was having difficulties with his career due to his skin color, but did not provide any specifics. I simply provided an example where I had encountered an issue with getting a job due to my skin color. However, you chose to reply to me instead of him.
So what I want to know is, "Did knowing the color of my skin affect your posting?"
That's not the point. The point is that the other candidate was offered the job even though I was more qualified, because of my non-favorable racial status.
Talk about being a whining victim.
You aren't listening. I am not a victim. I am not claiming to be a victim. I resent being called a victim, and I'd like an apology.
I think you just replied to the AC that was replying to me, so let me speak for myself.
Your so vague, which is usually an indicator that someone is full of shit.
Exactly how am I vague? Because I didn't include the name of the government agency? I think I was pretty specific.
Tell me, if you haven't been hired for a couple of jobs because your white why do you:
I never said, "a couple of jobs". You are putting words in my mouth.
1. Mention only the ONE scenario which you actually did get the job.
I mentioned one scenerio, because there was only one scenerio.
And stop trying to cloud the issue. The fact that I got the job makes no difference. If the other candidate had wanted the job, he would have gotten it. Furthermore, the HR person admitted that the other person was *less qualified* than I was. That is the point. It was discrimination, plain and simple.
2. Failed to mention the plurality of your discrimination?
Again, I never said anything about it happening more than once.
Quit pretending to be a victim.
I am not pretending to be a victim. I am not a victim, and I do not wish to be a victim. I hear people complain about racism all the time, when it turns out that they've never actually experienced it. What is usually shocking to these people is that I have experienced racism in both my career and in my personal life. I am not claiming that it's anything like the horrors that others have experienced, all I am saying is that I was told I was not good enough because of the color of my skin. Most of the people of minorities that I have talked to about this have not experienced it themselves.
Any discrimination you've experience doesn't come close to the prejudice and discrimination that poor minorities have to deal with...
That's true, I'm not going to deny that. I'm telling you that it works BOTH ways, because I've exprienced it.
...and don't try telling me people aren't discriminating against these days.
They are. As are ALL people.
Most people are discriminated against these days
Exactly my point.
especially ugly people, and GOD FORBID if you're an ugly fat black woman who speaks like a black person.
What's wrong with obese black women? I think you're a racist.
I know plenty of fellow white people who aren't technically racists (because they believe some minorities are good), but can't seem to kick the racial prejudice and can't even fathom their inherant non-racial prejudice.
You realize, that employers can't legally do that in your case, but they can in mine. I could not do anything about it in my case, because they were a government agency and under their minority quota. The irony is that the other candidate was not even a U.S. citizen, but was in a minority.
Also been harassed, slandered, attacked, belittled...
Yup, me too. Public schools are integrated, but neighborhoods are not. It makes no difference how nice you are to people when you're a cracker on the outside.
Hard to get further in my career because of the color of my skin.
Have you ever actually been turned down for a job, because of your skin color? I have, and I'm caucasian.
I interviewed at a govenment agency in the 90's, and the director flat out told me, "You're more qualified for the job, but we have to hire the other candidate, because he is in a minority."
The other candidate ended up not taking the job. I took it, because I needed the money.
Spend the time finding a good composer. Even if someone like Klaus Badelt, Hans Zimmer, Trevor Rabin, or Harry Gregson-Williams isn't available, a good soundtrack makes visuals look even better.
Come on Alan, everybody knows Yes was better with Steve Howe....;)
I apologize. I know full well, I should talk about the graphics demos. Ooo, a Steve Howe graphics demo...
except that it's serial number is it's mac address
Maybe with some vendors, but this isn't true with both Netgear and Linksys. There is a separate MAC address and serial number on the bottom of the unit, and one is not based on the other.
Otherwise most of this started with a particular hardware review website that wanted to get MANY page hits (and they succeeded beyond their wildest imaginations) with a video of an AthlonXP frying itself because they yanked the heatsink off the thing while the system is running

WTF slashdot??? When I pasted this in, there were no spaces in the links!
Here, I'll fix it. Your post with clickable links:

They also document and explain many of the issues facing the LSM project as well:
here
It will be interesting to see how the Gentoo Hardened Project will respond to this as well as they have done a great deal of work with grsecurity and provided some exceptional Grsecurity documentation (for the 1.9.x series). Hardened Gentoo Gentoo Grsecurity Guide
It will be sad to see this project fade away, especially for those needing an expressive security RBAC/MAC/PAX system. Grsecurity, combined with PAX, provided a well rounded security system that was sensible, somewhat easy to learn, and easier to administrate thanks to the powerful gradm Learning capability.
You might want to use HTML next time. Or you might not.
I'm not sure what you mean. Black holes are block holes - there's no such thing as an "active" or "passive" black hole, just a black hole. If one does exist at the center of our galaxy, it will be sucking things in.
He was referring to this quote from the article:
The black holes were all in "active" galaxies, meaning they were actively consuming large quantities of galactic matter. Our Milky Way contains a supermassive black hole but the setup is not currently active. In an active galaxy, a swirling disk of gas and dust, known as a torus, surrounds and largely obscures the central black hole.
Can you show me a documented case of where the FBI just walked in without a warrant?
No, I can't. You can probably thank the 1969 case of Chimel v. California for helping everyone out there. This case placed more control over what the law enforcement could search following an arrest.
There was a case that went to the Supreme court in which it was argued that an IR heat detector was a violation of the 4th ammendment. You can read about it on the FBI's page, in Kyllo v. United States.
I think the issue at hand here is the potential that Section 213 of the PATRIOT Act has of being abused by law enforcement.
Wasn't there a Sherlock Holmes novel where the police ransack some guys apartment looking for a document
I couldn't find this particular scene in the canon anywhere, although, "A Scandal in Bohemia" from The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes, seems to fit somewhat.

4 works pretty well, too. UK counters can try 6.
No way! I always use my cat's name, "qx5Rt8klV95fgEr5", as a password. Of course, I change her name every month.
I'm an asshole, because I got called a honkey and spit on?
That's not the point. The point is that the other candidate was offered the job even though I was more qualified, because of my non-favorable racial status.

That's nothing. I'm building a machine now where I have to underclock a K6-2! Whee!!
Of course, it's not a total geek-loss...
- I have to build all the external case connectors for it, because the motherboard only has IDC connectors.
- I have to build a case to put it in since the board isn't a standard size.
- I have to hope that I calculated the wattage correctly so that I don't have issues with my external power supply brick.
- I have to install Linux on a CompactFlash and hope that there aren't BIOS issues when booting from it.
Why am I doing this again?Sure, no problem. Now you know - and knowing is half the battle. G.I. Joe!

I call bullshit on this one.
You'd be wrong then.

It also has an uncanny resemblance to line noise.
I can't even post the example that I wanted to post to show this, because it doesn't get past the lamness filter.
Reason: Please use fewer 'junk' characters.
Aaaaarrrrggghhh!!!
I know, it was already mentioned.
I was specifically trying to find a similar Sherlock Holmes story, since the poster mentioned that character. :)
No, I can't. You can probably thank the 1969 case of Chimel v. California for helping everyone out there. This case placed more control over what the law enforcement could search following an arrest.

Cheezus was making a joke. He wasn't serious.
Of course, humor is harder to recognize in pure text messages, so feel free to correct this assumption if necessary.
It was a pretty obvious joke, especially if you're over 30. Of course, the moderator didn't get it either.
What is the connection between your subject line and your statements?
The connection is between 420 and bong smoking.
I couldn't find this particular scene in the canon anywhere, although, "A Scandal in Bohemia" from The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes , seems to fit somewhat.
Sweet! I'm going pick up a few mutts from a shelter for my very own Redundant Array of Inexpensive Dogs.
No need for expensive purebreds.
Digital Phonimeters? Hmmm, I can see it now...
If you make yours an Extech, you would have a built-in laser!
If you got a Triplett, you could get a free poster!
And there's probably already a phone on some Fluke multimeter. Hell, this one comes with an orgasm.
