I have this problem too. Basically, I write down in steps what sections of the program I'm going to need, functions etc. Then I just make the functions or what not based on my notes. It helps a lot when you don't have to switch from planning to coding mode on and off.
For those of you who use Outlook, try The Bat. It's a great email program! I love it to death.. it does everything Outlook does, without the security problems, and plus, it has the cool replies where it puts the original sender's initials in the reply quote;)
Knowing the MPAA, the helmet would decapitate you.. not fog up. Well, before it decapitated you, it would make you sign a new will saying you give all your money to the MPAA to pay for your "crime". Then it would decapitate you.
Well, I definately wouldn't put it as 'pro gun'. More like 'pro freedom to carry a gun'. An interesting point.. but there's still no way you'll EVER see a shooting game in a public school around here..
That sounds great. I don't know a Dan Herr.. I know a Katie Herr, I'm not sure if they are related. I don't do gaming in Linux, it's a long story but I don't have my usual computers.. so I am stuck with a P3 870mhz with 810 integrated graphics. Half life, UT, Starcraft and such are fine, but they don't run very well under Linux on this comp. I file swap a lot too. It's not a problem:)
Seriously, to have a secure system, most of it can be done automatically.. apt-get update every night will keep a server relatively secure. Now, if it's set up wrong in the first place (cough cough Redhat), then you have other problems.. but keeping things updated, as well as monitoring attacks (snort) will cover most of the bases. I just wish securityfocus would make a customizable mailing list emailing on new vulns.. it would beat reading bugtraq all the time =)
"Well, gentlemen, we were supposed to have a committee meeting to find the most cost effective solution to our problem, but, since this company's solution is over 10x as expensive, it must be the best! Anyone disagree? Meeting dismissed."
I know what you mean. It's sad.. the wrestlers at our school are far more violent than people that play quake, etc etc:) We have our lan parties outside of school, but I think it would make a really neat extra-curricular activity.
That is really cool! At our school, we have a Cisco networking class, and we do something similar, except it's out of school. As long as they have parent permission, I think it's a great idea. Unfortunately, around here it isn't possible.. as we live in a very conservative area.
OK, so how does this work? In the beginning of the article, they talk about the MEMS as a kind of laser that will shine something in your eye. Later on, they say that the MEMS can be connected *to* a laser and then project at a screen. So, what is it? And why is this so much better than having tiny LCDs? Is that quality that much better? LCD goggles have astoundingly good quality if you've ever tried them.
I didn't miss your point, you just misunderstood mine. No one is going to willingly opt-in to spamlists. There are many legitimate opt-in services, however, they all require you to actually opt-in. Spam should be banned, as well as spam claiming to be opt-in. I agree, if you somehow purposely signed up for spam, then it's your fault, however, you should still be allowed to get off the list.
Sorry, I have been unclear. True opt-in services are fine. I just received an opt-in "spam" from slashdot a few minutes ago saying you posted a reply;) My point is many spam services claim to be opt-in. Some of the footers they use are absolutely hilarious; claiming to be sent legally, citing a bill that was rejected by the Senate.
I love emails about products and services, however, I don't like emails about: *WIN A FREE VACATION*, *ENLARGE YOUR PENIS*
Real mailing lists that have useful information, such as Dell's newsletter, don't receive user bases from spam, and make it trivial to unsubscribe. There is a large difference from what you imply.
Does sun actually have a free download in their site? Or is the "free solaris" the media kit? I'm sure Sun doesn't make any money charging $50 for a few cds. I couldn't find any download on their site.. but is there one? If so where?
According to the spam I get daily, I "opt-in" to tens of spam every day. Unfortunately, I havn't. While it's a nice idea.. spam must be banned completely. No one wants spam.. it's just a fact legislators are going to have to accept.. opt-in spam is just spam.
Well, you have an interesting idea. The bonding idea is BS, though.. I'm not sure what you were thinking:)
But, as you say, if you simply route (routing should work, you shouldn't need NAT) the packets from the router to the modem interface, it should work well enough. Unfortunately, once you get a dedicated box to do this, you might as well use IT as the router, unless you have a special reason:)
The article refers to Opera as an open source browser.. last time I checked Opera wasn't open source.. am I wrong? I guess they mean cross platform.

My dog clicked it.. I swear!
For a 25 byte cd key.. it's about $65,000. That's about $2600 (cool :)) per byte.

That's cool. I goto Lancaster Catholic, but I live in Manheim Township. I would be interested in going. What games do you play?

Lancaster, e.g. home of the amish, ultra-conservative land ;)
Worse.. Pennsylvania ;)

Ahh, ok. That seems to make more sense. Still, using a small lcd would seem to be easier if you ask me...
What makes this different from a video card?

Lol! That is a great idea! I spamcop(.net) every spam that I get, but signing them up for their own "services" sounds like a neat idea.
