Why not just avoid buying Sony products? Let the free market operate. Granted, this doesn't compensate for Sony's removal of the "other OS" feature, but there's an ongoing lawsuit over that, too. It's interesting how disingenuous Sony is being, claiming different things in the two lawsuits - that should (hopefully) get them in big trouble with the courts, which don't like weasels.
Thanks for admitting you haven't read the article, although both your original post and this one make that very obvious. The rest of your post shows that you simply don't "get it," and you definitely flatter yourself about your sys admin knowledge, since it's obvious from your references that Windows is all you ever really knew.
"By your own admission you've devoted half a lifetime or more to developing computer skills. Should everybody have to do that? Are people who don't devote half a lifetime specifically to computing skills "stupid' and "fearful"?"
Yes, and yes, if their career is administering computers (or computer networks, which is what the article is about).
"Everything can be done in a GUI. I don't see why not. We just haven't made that happen yet."
Yes, and everything any processor can do can also be done by a Turing machine. That doesn't mean Turing machines are efficient, desirable or the best way to do computing.
You didn't read the article, and you're not a sys admin, right?
So, iPhone users need to buy more apps. That means that either Android comes bundled with apps which do what people need, or the apps are they want available free in the open Android Market, so users don't have to pay for them. Or perhaps it means there are lots of iPhone users who buy "fart" apps.
Are you thinking Apple makes money from app sales, not hardware sales? Google makes money from use. Consider the other examples I gave. How much money is MS making from W2K (which still has a considerable installed base)? How many people are developing for W2K?
Installed base looks to the past, market share is an indicator of the future.
The summary makes the mistake of confusing market share (sales) with installed base ("user share"). Android has had leading market share for some time, which is why their share of the installed base is increasing. CRT televisions still have a very large installed base, but a very low market share - the vast majority of new TVs are LCD/plasma. Windows 2000 still has a significant installed base, but almost zero market share.
I understood exactly what the OP was talking about. Most truckers would know what he's talking about, too. You should try to get out of the basement more often, or at least learn how to use Google.
It's far simpler to get the "true-life" user stories, write them up into something that flows, and get someone that can get a line out without sounding like a total idiot to perform them.
How convenient for Samsung, then, that they were able to find actors who had the exact same names as the characters they played! FTA:
I did notice, however, that freelance travel writer Joan Hess bears a striking resemblance to New York actress Joan Hess...
And that real estate CEO Joseph Kolinski could be New York actor Joseph Kolinksi‘s twin brother...
Filmmaker Karl Shefelman, on the other hand, looks a lot like...filmmaker Karl Shefelman. Who works for a New York production company. One that’s done work for Samsung.
But, gasoline is both "green," and renewable. It comes from plants, don't you know? Burning it simply releases the CO2 that those plants previously sequestered from the atmosphere (humans are simply restoring the environment which flora previously upset). And if we let plants which die today lie around long enough, they too will turn to oil out of which gas can be made. It's all a matter of timescale.
"Performant" is not "a truly cogent alternative syntax delivering readability, expressiveness and some compelling new language features." It's not even a word.
"The FSF is NOT the copyright holder of the Linux _kernel_ "
No, but they wrote the license under which the kernel is distributed. Seems to me that their opinion on how that license is meant to apply is pretty authoritative.
You don't know how blocking based on a DNS name works, do you? It is done by firewalls, not routers. The only way to know what IP addresses to block is to do an rDNS on it, or have a frequently updated list. One could also do L4-7 inspection, but that too is easily defeated.
By modern "law," as Commander-in-Chief, he has full control of the military. In most other things, it's a figurehead position. Congress can stop military actions by eliminating funding, but as long as they leave funding in place, they really can't do anything. The war powers clause has simply been ignored (not that the current majority would shut down current military actions). There's no example of the converse, where Congress declared war, and the Executive failed to act.
All that said, since Congress hasn't declared war, the Executive has complete authority to shut down any military actions.
every ISP/college/corporation/consumer router who doesn't want their clients/students/employees/family members viewing this material will just block it

Yea, those blocks will work well (do you really think they'll do rDNS?).
And, ISTM, it wasn't that long ago that everyone around here was up in arms, saying headers couldn't be copyrighted, when SCO tried to claim infringement by Linux header files - saying there was copyrighted content taken from UNIX. <confused>Which is it, or does it depend on who's ox is getting gored?</confused>
Now apply that to global warming "science."

You haven't read the article either, have you? I'll bet you've never administered an enterprise scale network, too.

"But whats the point if it is just a human-milk like substance that comes from a cow. Thats no fun to milk."
No, no. You misunderstand. It is "cow producing human-like milk." From a bit of this special milk, you get a cow! Just like an acorn and an oak.
You don't know the difference between a summary and an article, do you?

"Installed base is a better number anyways."
Exactly how do you conclude that?
Are you thinking Apple makes money from app sales, not hardware sales? Google makes money from use. Consider the other examples I gave. How much money is MS making from W2K (which still has a considerable installed base)? How many people are developing for W2K?

"Wrong. If I write crappy software that hits your laptop's disc every 10ms, is the laptop the inefficient part?"
Yes, because you could have bought one with a SSD.
"I want a browser that gives me the most battery life possible."
You want to use Lynx, then.

Ladzyfirth. That means you're full of acedemic bullshit.
