My first computer was and *is* a TRS-80 clone. It is turned on sometimes for "old times sake".
My first PC (circa 1987) was and *is* an 8086 in a bullet-proof bent-metal case.
I use some '93-4 servers (486-50).
How's an early IBM PC running OS/2 and fitted with an excellent Token Ring card, plus some cables and TR patch-boards?
I have several early '90s servers with 486, 386 and even one with a 286 processor if anyone wants some.
I sent in this story a lot earlier than this version, and mine was "rejected". We are told not to get upset when stories are "rejected" but there seems to be an issue here, CmdrTaco! Editorial policy should be consistent! (Okay, I'm not really upset, really, really I'm not...:-)
Senator Alston may not be the greatest **computer** intellectual, but let's be fair. Who writes this stuff? He does not invent policy or Bill text himself.
I say "Good on him."
When did any of us do this kind of thing.
I couldn't care less that it doesn't blow up the universe or his room at the university. He got off his ^*$# and did something that not many others would attempt let alone achieve.
Did his father help? Sure; but, the father didn't do it, either!
What an achievement.
Quick. No-body tell SCO a dictionary publisher or anyone else who may try to claim ownership, get a legal hold over English, and extract a price for its use or abuse.
And, what use is 'prior art' when no-one can spell?

I'm an Aussie, too.

Yet, the semi-Westminster form of Government we operate under in Australia both appluads and blames the Minister responsible. Sen. Richard Alston

Seems that Satchmo (Louis Armstrong) found his soul home. Of course, there have been other infra-bass singers, too. PRE
This is profound.
I had not thought of it in those terms.
