You'll notice that countries that have widespread acceptance of foreign currencies tend to either be heavily oriented towards tourism and/or have unstable currencies (high inflation typically). Those benefits make up for the additional risk and overhead. What are the benefits for developed economies with stable currencies?
Exactly where did I deny that the video was a causative factor? I fully accept that the content of this video is a factor in the disturbances. My point is that I do believe the video producer to bear any responsibility for what followed.
Hopefully your Muslim friend no-longer thinks it's just that you be condemned to eternal torture for being you. You think he'd ever vote for a queer? Is he going to be inviting you and your boyfriend around for dinner with his kids?
Probably not, but at least there's some progress there. You're right that it's difficult to maintain aggressive hatred of a group when one knows a person from that group, and can see that they're actually a decent guy. I see with older Christians that they can be nice and civil around gays, but then in private they still believe them to be somehow wrong. Thankfully here in the west these views are more commonly among the old, so it seems increasingly likely that these bad ideas will die with them.
Finally, downloadable software for Windows that'll cure just about anything!
I imagine/. readers are savvy enough to realise that the site is a scam, and that downloading their software is akin to having unprotected sex with third-world prostitutes.
This does NOT excuse the people who commit the actual violence, they're fully responsible for what they do. But if someone chooses to provoke violence his actions are one of the causes of the violence they provoke.
Sure, in the sense that the Knoxville Unitarian Universalist's relaxed stance on homosexuality and blacks was a cause of the armed attack on their church. What's your point?
If you go online and threaten the president it wont take long for your free speech to put you in a cell. So how some right wing nutjobs can be allowed to kill an ambassador and hundreds of thick rioting foriegners I dont understand at all
You don't understand this because you're seeing insults and threats as being one and the same thing. They are not, and that's why you're confused. The film is pretty shitty, but no excuse for the violent responses its seen. Any government censoring in order to protect hypersensitive and violent people from taking offence is going to be very busy indeed.
this screams Israel, even though it was proven that this movie was created by Egyptian Copts living abroad. there is no way in hell that israel didn't partially fund this.
Don't worry about trolling. That'll die down after you've posted something to substantiate this claim that the Israeli government provided funding. After all, it's not as if this is likely to be just something pulled out of your arse.
Running x86 windows apps is pretty killer in a tablet...
That's about as "killer" as being able to run Office on a Wii, using a Nunchuk for working in Excel. Tablets are touch screen driver, which requires a very different UI. Binary compatibility with Windows is largely pointless. Far better to have familiar APIs.
It's not just happening in courts. Janelly Fourtou, an MEP pushing hard for toughened IP laws, also happened to be the wife of the guy heading up Vivendi Universal - a company that stood to benefit from such changes. Even if there was no intended self-interest, anyone with more than a passing acquaintance with propriety would surely avoid championing IP when she herself has such an obvious self-interest. It's not difficult to come away feeling that her husband switching to a career in sausage making would coincide with Fourtou losing her interest in IP in favour of a sudden and strong interest in laws that favour sausage makers.
I dnt have military experience, but I too found ways of sneaking things through security. Despite liquids being incredibly dangerous, I use a rather ingenious method for getting it through security. I leave the bottle in my carry-on bag. I only hope that terrorists don't discover this technique.
That kind of exploit is theoretically possible in any pretty much any computer program that accepts input and where the necessary bug exists.
QR codes are nowhere near being novel enough to warrant the conclusion reached by the submitter. The story is baloney. Val Kilmer's new girlfriend could give him AIDS. Not saying it's likely she is infected with HIV, but definitely within the realm of possibility. Remember how Magic Johnson contracted HIV from one of his many sexual partners?
Imposing general Slashdot culture on history would be fun. Take the Gettysburg Address. It would have begun with Lincoln saying "I know I'll be modded to oblivion for this", and thoughtful and useful responses would be interspersed with bizarrely off topic and fanatical support or criticism of the then most popular manufacturer of buggies and saddles.
A Twitter user or troll found to ''menace, harass or cause offence'' using the social networking medium could be jailed for up to three years.
Yeah, because offence is never a subjective thing used for censorship - such as when cries of "blasphemy!" are hurled around at the first criticism of cherished beliefs.
It's bullshit. Harassment and threats are already taken care of under law, and should be taken seriously. I'm not a fan of twats on the Internet thinking they can issue threats with impunity, but also not seeing a need for yet another fucking law to remove freedom of speech in favour of people who take offence at near enough anything.
Go to the linked review site. He's staunchly defending his C&D letters against review blogs. He's a little shit that needs a crotch punch.
Assuming he's actually a thoughtful and decent guy, he appears to be roleplaying as a batshit crazy cunt of a man. Seems that this isn't his first stab at asserting ownership over things that existed long before he ever put crayon to paper.
He has not (and I think cannot) trademarked a comic title. He has trademarked a trademark for sources of downloadable media content. From a read of the grant, this does not cover books or reviews.
He has two registrations, the first of which most certainly does cover books.
I'd have thought the term already sufficiently generic enough to refuse these trademarks, let alone allow him to assert ownership over pretty much any fucking use of the phrase.
Pro tip for Kazan Wild: Did you know that the phrase "The Good Book" is yet to be registered as a trademark for religious multimedia content. Go grab it, and while you're on your way down to the the USPTO, don't bother looking before crossing any busy roads you encounter.
Terrorists would obviously have their explosives on display, and would sip from them. Same with knives, which us why a couple of friends have repeatedly made it through screening with knives in their carry-on. Real terrorists would carry knives prominently.

How can poor people kick economic arse?

The ability to give bank computers AIDS is just the start. What happens when terrorists discover them?

I'd imagine Mac OS X to be more commonly found than Windows ME. ME wasn't on the market for terribly long.
