the boxee box basicly uses ffmpeg to play videos. Does the iTV support 1080P AVC(h264 lvl 4.1 or 5.1) + DTS in a mkv container? how about anything outside of quicktime formats?
Video formats
H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in.m4v,.mp4, and.mov file formats MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in.m4v,.mp4, and.mov file formats Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in.avi file format
ohh hey look it can't do full 1080P let alone a bluray dump. so why is it better than an boxee box? it has shows you can buy for $0.99? boxee has them for free and i heard rumors about a paid service coming.
Looks like the boxee box will play more than the iTV. The iTV looks like it's a phone4 in a mac mini case, with hdmi, spdif, 10/100 ethernet, and usb... Something to think about. I wonder how much the screen costs on a ipad..
George Hotz managed to get to ring 0 of the hypervisor. Basicly he had full control of the hardware, or enough control to get there. Now he still needed to boot gameOS to make any games work, but sony probably figured it was just a mater of time before he reverses the gameOS too. His blog has since become invite only it would seem.
Shortly after GeoHot annoced this sony announced the removal of "otherOS" as it was a security problem.
the PS3 only has 256MB of ram, and no access to the GPU* apart from frame buffer, and very little of the shelf stuff can make use of the SPUs. In fact you can't even use mplayer to play bluray movies, for lack of hardware aceleration. If you want to write software for the Cell, or just browse the web without flash in linux, it shoudl work great. If you were thinking "OOO OOO HTPC" better go buy an ION/Atom and use that for the same money, or an older intel mac mini and a broadcom crystal HD card.
*Well i hear there was some progress on breaking out of the hypervisor to get GPU access just before sony shit canned the other OS feature.
no, the clean diapers need to be on no one. Not really, no. Even by/. standards, assuming you are hetero male. I'm unsure of classifications for other sexualities.
but really, thats the current/near future needs of the "family car" although, i could settle for needing to pull a small trailer or use a roof top carrier, for ${STUFF}
so do the L/KM -> KM/L conversion once, stick it on a sticky note, and use it when you need it. But L/KM makes comparing trip costs(what most usually do, think: "to work", "to inlaws", "to bar") not require any gymnastics.
120VAC@7.5amp,120VAC@15 amp, 120VAC@45amp, 240VAC@15amp, 460VAC@45amp, or 240VDC@45amp? see it's still a problem, all but the 460V is likely in the home, but most could have 240V in the USA. clothes dryers and some ovens use 240V.
your commute to work is how many miles? so it makes it easy to compare based on how far you drive. if you commute is 20 miles, and car 1 gets 4gallons/100mile, you can make 5 trips on 4 gallons of gas, Car 2 gets 2 gallons/100 miles, 5 trips is 2 gallons of gas. If gas is currently 3.50/gallon, it makes it very easy to figure out cost per trip to work. Most trips you make are a fixed distance. You rarely think, "ohh hey i'm going to go drive 4 gallons of gas away."
Also this is because professions like engineering have things like bridges that could fall and kill people. Programming has yet to reach that point yet, yes i know pacemakers, but do they have the stamp of the 50 yr experience guy from the state bridge dept on them, after he checked each and every line of code? In engineering the guys doing the checking of designs are the ones that get paid the big bucks.
no she can't. For the last several years that has not been the case. Employies have had little barginening power in relation to working conditions, or pay, simply there is a high enough unemployment rate that there will always be someone willing to work that job for the just barely legal conditions of the employer.
Waiters/waitresses are allowed to be paid below minimum wage in places that allow tips, at least here in Minnesota MN, USA. They even allow that for places that use a tip pool, where all of the tips everyone on a shift made goes into a pool, and then divided evenly across all of the staff(yes all of the staff, dishwashers too).
1) it's a prototype, if you have a 50% cleanup duty cycle, you'll need 10k units not 5k. 2) If you notice it doesn't drag the nano fibers, it uses a conveyor belt of them to move. By ensuring that the belt if hard to move in one direction, and easy to move in the other, should should be able to crawl your way forward. 3) True, there seems to be some dubious math, but are you saying that is a reason to not let them test it out? hmm seems like the worse that could happen at this point is they flounder around in the oil, o be rescued by the observation boat.
The thing i'm curious about, is how one turns one of those. It's not like they move fast and could use some sort of rudder...
The wings look like they fold back and probably in half. But overall I think you are right, this will be a crap transport vehicle, and a very very poor plane.
I wonder if making it "hop" with a small rocket or something would have been a better idea, if all you want to do is "jump" over a roadside bomb.
a maps.google.com clone called nMap?

and? feature lists included "other OS". Shall I take a picture of my PS3 box that says it?
ahh for a refund, but i want to use the device i paid for, not return it. How does one go about doing that?

no... the units on a spring constant are in SI units: "Nm^-1" or "kgs^-2"
Which is not N/M.

or their clunkers were too good to get a hand out... because they made a decent decision 15 years ago...
well, whats the CO2/KWatt for your local utility? Good luck asking them that...
if 90% of the traffic was motorcycles, we would simply divide the lanes up with a secondary stripe for the "bike" lanes.
How's your bike(motor or pedal) handle in the snow? let alone when we get 2-5 inches an hour sometimes.

can I put 2 adults, 3 car seats (with kids), a dog, and a weeks worth of stuff (clothes, diapers, dog food, etc) to take to the inlaws in a prius?
If so i may reconsider....
work, Force/distance is work(Joules in SI normally).

or just block requests from MS with no notice or block 1/2 of them.
