Can anyone else out there gauge just how bad this is? Imagine the costs involved when virus infect your phone and start calling people and smsing them. Imagine the bills it would be possible to run up!! Hundreds? Thousands? HUNDREDS of thousands?
Not only that imagine how glogged telecommunications would get if the virus make phones mass sms someone or call them. It would be like a mobile phones version of a DDoS effect.
According to the Herald Sun, one 17 year old student killed herself after the computers sent her the wrong sms telling her that'd she'd failed while she'd in fact

I wonder if this will get him in trouble, maybe fired like this guy.
Is it possible that this guy might be up for disiplanary action considering the publicity this will get?. Is it legal to fire someone for something like this?/body
I think they'll be using the theory that not every user wil take up 1gb of storage. Just because a user has 1gb AVAILABLE to them, it dosn't necessarily mean it'll all be used up.
I think theres a very simple solution to this. Why dosn't Dell simply tell people that to remove spyware, download a program such as Ad-Aware but when telling them this, inform them that they may be violating a EULA agreement between the person and the company that made the software? This way they would cover themselves legally.
So not only will they be helping their customers with spyware problems and increasing the rating of its technical support staff, but they are also covering themselves legally by warning the user that they may be braking a legal agreement and may be sued for it. Simple
