Pc Games have there place , and until I can play games at 1200x1600 32bit with 8x AA on a console. I will forever be a pc gamer at heart. Plus , who really LIKES playing FPS with-out a mouse and keyboard..........
If you used a ups backup , just one that could sustain mybee 5 or 10 min most. Then user a program (sure theres one for linux) that moniters the ups , if it turns on becuase of power out , AUTO backup... Simple
But i still see the problem , ramdisk would be cheap but a lot of hassle
He's famous , hell I wish i could have done something to make me that famous. If it was me i'd be having a hell of a good time with it . sure its embarrassing at first , but hell just have fun with it !.

Using Your example lets say i was going to break into your house to "test" the security. I told you i was going to do this. Guess what you would do for the next weeks.
YOU would make sure you lock your doors and windows at all times. but if i would not have told you / asked you . mybee you leave for work in a hurry and forget to lock your door ! mybee sometimes on a cool night you open your window a little and forget to close it. I think you get the point..
Even if the Corp. does not actively tighten security for the "test" hack they are still going to be watching there logs more actively and such.
The point is simple you can't do a true Test of Security by letting them know it has to be random and un planned.
If you ask and tell theam your going to try to hack. Then they will tighten security. Thats exactly why you can't tell theam.
You have to just do it. at a random time without theam knowing , then see if they catch it. Thats the only true way to "test"
Do it Blind or it is not real. A BlackHat will never ask or tell you when.
I Can't wait for phones to go open source. Just think about it. The more phones go open source the more cool things we will be able to do to them.
Right now Phones are so propiatary If your provider does not provide stuff like games/ ringtones... and so on you just can't get them. But if they were open source. Think of the posiblitlys.
ahhh to dream of a day when all is free to tweak:)
