You misunderstand AC. OS X (and I presume Win 7) treat used RAM as wasted RAM. The OS will keep as much stuff in RAM that might come in handy into RAM as it possibly can. That doesn't mean it cant run well in significantly less.
From the original abstract: " A 45-year-old adult retains only half the circadian photoreception of early youth" which the summary translates into: "by age 45, the photoreceptors of the average adult receive just 50 percent of the light needed to fully stimulate the circadian system".
Apart from - you know - the fact that two of the more important EU institutions are the Council of Ministers and the Parliament - both of which contain people you voted for.

While it may be convenient to blame "IP overlords" in fact this case was simply starting by a man deciding that he wanted to protect the words he penned from being misappropriated by others and the courts agreeing that he had such a right.
You say that the writing was mediocre, I'd argue that it was actually very good. The episodes did vary, however and followed an arc, so I suppose if you only saw a couple, you might not have seen it at its best.
"In an era where science and technology are too often vilified, we believe that science-fiction should inspire us to surpass our limits and use the tools available to us..." and that's why we are determined to do entirely without CGI.
Yeh, but you are taking up space in scarce landfill with material that could be used, rather than... taking up space in Landfill. Where I am in London, we are supplied with 3 bins, compostables (which takes pretty much any organic matter apart from raw meat and bones), recyclable - almost all plastics, all metal and glass and regular rubbish. The compost created is sold to gardeners, used for public parks and gardens etc. and does a lot more good than it would causing a stink in landfill.
Well, as a UK tax payer, I'm bloody glad we got it, I'm glad that a huge chunk of the spending was raised by private industry and I'm I'm glad I got some tickets.
Oh, and I'm quite looking forward to the legacy too - mind you, I live in East London so you might call me biased. Who does the game benefit? Well the people who live in Stratford now have a massive shiny shopping centre, which to be honest most of them seem to love. There are parents at my kids' school who don't have a car and think it's ace. Considering the fact that you still have to elbow your way around the place, they're not the only ones.
I always insist on conducting the whole interview in Esperanto - particularly for those people who have said they have "good communications skills". Suckers!
I think you are spot on. There's a huge hole in this story. Why did Allard simply not say "It doesn't have a fully-featured e-mail client at this stage, but we can easily add one"?
Not only bad for humans, bad for all the other extant species we share the Earth with. The sheer level of biodiversity that the Earth currently supports is wonderous, stupendous, fascinating. It would be a shame if even a small proportion of that rich diversity was lost.
Yup, I had an iMac - 2 years out of warranty that developed a faulty screen, they repaired it for free, and as far as I know there wasn't a particular recall on that model.
Sadly not. The poster apparently believes that the past tense of 'drag' is 'drug'. /shrug.
It's quite possible to join an organisation believing that you have a mandate for change, only to discover... You don't
Has Bellsouth outsourced its mail system to Google, by any chance. Quite a few ISPs have. It's a possible mechanism for this information leakage.
My approach - my ISP offers a free mailbox so I use that. I then pay for a domain and forward mail to the ISP mailbox.

Sigh.
... the taking notes just after a lecture idea does seem a really rather good idea.

I suspect the OP was hoping to make his app as secure as a bank's Web-based account management system

So you presumably go and look for the information you need on a Web site that doesn't support itself through ads. And yet - here you are.
"Envirowack" - person who suggests that the curernt scientific consensus may be correct.
Sigh.
... good to see that Slashdot has (finally) stopped using the Red Cross symbol for medical stories.
What is actually retarded here is that someone accepted a link from the Daily Fail. Come on people.
I tried Opera several times and found its lack of GUI fit-and-finish rather unpleasant.

Yes, well.

But the business about the O2 network appears to be incorrect. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/11/02/olympic_coverage/

Based on ... what, precisely?
