  3. DON'T dub! on The Problems With Video Game Voice Acting · · Score: 1

Here's two things I wish developers would do:

    - Do NOT change the voices of foreign games. I want my Japanese games with Japanese voice acting, thank you very much.

    - When developing a game set in a specific foreign country, take a hint from Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ -- do it in that country's language. For example, I REALLY think God of War should be spoken in Greek, and Stalker, in Russian or Ukrainian. Is it set in a fictional land? Create a fictional language, like they did for the Panzer Dragoon series.

I'm certainly very pleased with what they're doing by remastering a whole load of classic albums and putting extra tracks on the CDs.

I, for one, am extremely unpleased with the quality of many remasters, as well as most new releases. Why? THE LOUDNESS WAR means they are doing it without concern for sound quality or the limitations of the medium.

Just one example of said belief here.

But famed jewish philosopher Maimonides had an even more disturbing view. He acknowledged that the foreskin was useful, that it had sexual functions, that removing it hampered one's sexual capacity. And circumcision should be done because of that. I kid you not, that's a guy who thought an inferior sex life was a moral goal. How demented does one have to be, to take that shit seriously?

Judaism is actually a very well reasoned religion

Meaning: they are used to making up excuses for their irrational dogmas.

As I understand it ... man is created in God's image, therefore is as close to perfection as you can already make it

Cute. Except they make an exception for that one bit that's your most sensitive erogenous zone. And rabbis dare call that bit an imperfection. And even deny the pain that the procedure to "fix it" leads to pain and negative side effects, or even pretend these are a good thing.

See a dogma, see a contradiction, make up absolute bullshit to keep dogma. Is this "reasoned"? Come on. Judaism is every bit as irrational and retarded as every other religion - but ESPECIALLY retarded for that one dogma, one so insane that it makes my blood boil in rage. If I sound disrespectful, you got it right. I abhor religion in principle, but those that promote genital mutilation, I regard as nothing but evil.

  15. Re:What's wrong with gamepads? on How Sony and Microsoft Hope To Crack the Motion Control Market · · Score: 1

Gamepads are fine for 3D platformers, but are a compromise (meaning, passable but far from ideal) when it comes to other genres; almost anything 2D goes best with an arcade-style controller, and first person shooters really benefit from the precision of keyboard+mouse.

    For a moment I thought: "Huh, a brown-skinned asian, that's rather unusual!"

Then I got it: in UK, when you say "Asian", you mean Indian or Pakistani. Technically, that is not wrong; but in most other countries, I believe, if you say "Asian", everyone will think of a person from the Far East -- i.e., Japan, China, Korea. And even if you do say "Indian", you still have to specify: Indian as one from India, not the indigenous peoples of the Americas.
