  1. I liked the game and like it more with the patch. on No Man's Sky's Steam Page Didn't Mislead Gamers, Rules UK Ad Watchdog (arstechnica.com) · · Score: 1

I never understood the backlash this game got. It's a video game. And it's fun. Do what you did with the other games you didn't like and GTFOver it.

Not necessarily a trick, but a gauge of the market. It's not ready, no. But the promise is that it will be.

  3. LEGO Commercial on Has Lego Sold Out? · · Score: 2

Just after reading this article a commercial came on TV that showed families building random things with creativity. Tagline was something like "Everyday families are building memories." Seemed like a direct response to the article!

  4. Pretty nice on Ubuntu 6.06 Reviewed · · Score: 1

I havnt looked at Ubuntu in a while until this...

I ran the live CD and right away had a few problems (that were, easily enough, fixed). I have a dual monitor setup (NV 7800 GS) and with both monitors plugged in, the screen was jumbled. Once I unplugged the 2nd monitor everything went smoothly. Even the bootup screens, etc, etc look very nice. I could see this "scaring" people a lot less than other linux distros.

I was about to install it right away on my "Windows Box" right then and there, but forgot I'd have to dig up my RAID controller drivers. Oh well.

No mention of Monkey Island 1 or 2? WTH/F?!

  6. deltree /y on 10 Computer Mishaps · · Score: 1

oh man, one time, way back, i was trying to set up some batch file to run in autoexec.bat when windows 95 was booting. it was supposed to delete the netscape cache.

anyway, it was my first and only deltree /y mistake. i ended up losing hours of music that i'd made for fun. seriously probably 200 little snippets: some songs, some just beginnings... that was really cool.

    oops!
