    Three comments to make. a) Real Player sucks and should be avoided. Anyone who'd play oggs in Real is missing the point. b) AAC is in no way lossless and is of lower quality IMHO than Ogg. c) AAC is not even close to CD quality.And I'd be willing to bet you don't know what jitter is.

    Since everything left of Jesse Helms is called socialism in the U.S. these days, that would make me a proud socialist Canadian. And marginalized would be when your budget debt is half a trillion dollars this year. Whereas in socialist Canada, we had a balanced budget. Let's hear it for socialism.

    Generally speaking, the configure, make and make install is handled by emerge. If you would have gotten it to work, you would have found that out. Things such as configure options and USE flags are built into the ebuild. With etc-update you can choose what files to change or leave. It works quite well, once you read the docs.

    Recently purchased an IBM T40 laptop, this was on the bag it came in:

    "Important Read Before Removing:
    Please read the accompanying license agreements
    carefully before using the programs included with this

    and warranties for the software included with this sytem.
    By using the programs you agree to the terms of
    these agreements. If you do not accept the agreements
    included with this system, do not use the programs.
    Instead, promptly return the system for a full refund."

    Five minutes with a Gentoo install disk using cfdisk and problem solved!
    By return the system,they didn't mean the whole laptop, did they?
