how about having three versions of every config file, foo.con and foo.conf.good and foo.conf.stable.good would be written automatically when a normal shutdown is initiated, while stable would be written manually when the user or administator is satisfied with the current system (manually triggered for writing from good, not manually created for each conf file) then if the system fails to start properly (or to be manually triggered during a boot sequence if the system can't get far enough to figure it out on i't own, the readconf utility would give each tool the.good or.stable version of it's.conf the main problem with this approach would be each utility would have to be recompiled to ask the system's readconf tool for it's conf file rather than reading it directly
use common sense, could the earth really be round? obviously you would fall off if you lived on the side or bottom. common sense says taht what looks flat is flat so the earth is probably flat
since you seem to be strongly in favor of unlimited property rights you won't mind if i build my new air raid sirren testing facility next door to you will you? BTW it will have to operate 24/7 in order to remain profitable in today's tight markets.
Or is there a way to incorporate this into a system similar to the internet as we know it and make my home connection to my bank/paypal/yahoo shopping more secure? no there isn't, all QC does is provide YASPTP (Yet Another Secure Point To Point) transmission scheme, spending lots of money to do what OTP or even most PSK sytems can do today, but more leet and more expensive with a.0000001% improvement in number of global extintions it will take to crack
no it's not relatively the same, DVD gave many new features, higher quality, rapid seek times and non-degrading reading all in a user friendly package. UMD gives jack shit in new features there already are portable DVD players UMD movies are going to be another ATRAC/MD disaster.
i'm 20 as well, and i feel old every day, hell the "kids today" don't even know what autoexec.bat is for or why you would need a floppy disk to install an operating system. many don't know what a zip drive is and most could't recognize a parralell cable if you smacked 'em in the face with it. Damn do i feel old. pretty soon they won't know what a serial or PS/2 port is and sure as hell won't know what a full sized DIN connector is for or what an AT motherboard/PSU is.
which is why he is using a lawsuit instead, lawsuits and criminal prosecutions have about the same punishments for corporations, and lawsuits are easier to win (preponderance of evidence vs. reasonable doubt)
actually with vonage it should be simple, when you create an account you input your address, then if you call 911 it forewards that address to the dispatcher
maybe a couple hours downloading SP2 on dialup, but after that it only takes a few minutes to make XP secure (install firefox, set IE's security to MAX with password) and run it behind a NAT
got any more straw men to knock down? nobody claimed that lazy and poor are the same.
why is it that liberals are incapable of disagreeing with someone on social issues without labeling them something derogatory?

no need to let the facts get in the way of an anti-corporate rant
burn it with potassium chlorate, nothing but gas will be leftover
that would be called perjury when you lie in court, then bubba makes you his new "special friend"

i interpreted 'passed' to be the definition synonymous with 'defecated'
How asinine this is - especially for a Euro country!
I'd say it's about par for a Euro country
what if things like ipods and flash cards came with data on them like linux iso's and PD music, then no tax ;)
jokes too old, i bet almost half of slashdot won't get it

that's like saying you can improve the performance and reliability of your ford by buying a toyota, sur it works but it dodges the issue entirely
