    cases are easily lost or left at home, clamshell design really is better. also the case can get debriz in it and still scratch the screen, while a clamshell doesn't allow anything to slide across the screen.

    horseshit, 3 LCD monitors, one mini TV, one DV camcorder none of which have any dead pixels, this isn't 2000 anymore LCD produciton has drastically improved, as long as you are willing to spend the money to ensure highquality produciton, considering sony's record i would say a high number of dead pixels would likely be caused by using substandard components.

    No, Windows is great for embedding into things like bullets and munitions. Just as long as the Blue Scream of Death is that of our enemies and not us. I thought it was the other way around.... it being good to embed bullets and munitions into windows.

    the baen free (beer) library was the first place i went after i picked up an REB 1100 ebook reader. loads of good stuff and it's available in .rb (also in a bunch of other formats) format so i didn't have to dick around with converters.

    i don't know if there is anything on the market to do this, but i always figured having a super fast "system image" hard disk which is optomized to load lots of data into memory as quickly as possible for booting the system and a "page/swap" optomized drive which is significantly smaller in capacity than a normal drive, but is optomized for quick random access (lots of smaller platters?) would be a good way to make faster systems which are faster in the ways that people notice, people notice when the system stops and grinds (even with lots of ram, having 5 gigs of quck swap would be nice) and they notice when it takes "forever" to boot up.

    are you sure that wasnt 50,000+ MFT records? i have 133k with 3 MFT fragments, as far as i know a mounted partition cannot hav ethe MFT defragged. If you actually have 50k MFT fragments an FFR is your only hope.

    Of course, there are always limited situations where the employee has the upper hand in bargaining -- like when they are a serious expert, or have some specific skill, or whatever -- but this is the exception, not the rule, and I don't see any evidence that all of these people in the suit were experts with superior bargaining power, such that they have no need of labor and employment laws to protect them...

    Or when the corporate customer and product database is a single keystroke away from being uploaded to FTP's all over the world..... not that anyone should do something like that.... but don't fuck with IT, they can OWN your asses easily.
