I have been thinking about this problem for a while and i would like to get a group together to push for certain copyright reforms, such as providing full copyright protection to "any unique creative literary, film, or musical work regardless of derivation" with unique requiring that it not simply be a remake of an existing work, but a significantly seperate work. so releasing Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone in 1337 would still be illegal, because it is mostly a simple transformaiton of an existing work, but releasing a nasty fanfic "harry potter and the sorcerers bone" would be protected.

In any case, you still might want to pick up an Apple USB Keyboard - it works on any USB-using PC also: the iPod Shuffle fits pefectly into either of the two USB ports built into the keyboard.

that would work great if apple keyboards didn't suck so bad, they are small as hell and have the same meager stroke on the keys as a laptop. Overall I love apple hardware and wish i could afford some but the keyboards are absolutely terrible. Unfortuantely the trend with computers is to cheap out on anything that doesn't boost benchmark specs. Decent keyboards are almost gone except for maybe a handful of manufactueres and never come with new computers. I am using an ancient Dell "clicky" keyboard (model AT101w) ever since I ditched my USB keyboard.

my point is that not all new monitors can go over 1024x768, and there are reasons not to buy a large monitor just for the sake of having a large monitor, it's all about what it is used for, in an office long-term eyestrain and energy consumption of a large CRT is a significant consideration, as well as desk space used by a large CRT. many of the lower and lower-middle range LCD monitors only go up to 1024x768.
