    absolutely, if ICANN tried to step on an existing domain that domain would not be respected at all, not all URL's would pass back to legacy DNS if they could not resolve, all current ICANN tld's would pass correctly and any new tld's approved by ICANN that did not interfere with the new system. maybe even update the RFC's for URL's to explicitly set the DNS network in case ICANN tries to clobber the new system by cloning all of it's tld's.

    why are you using s string to store an amount of time?, shouldn't it be %MEDIUM_TO _SEMI_LONG_TIME, #MEDIUM_TO _SEMI_LONG_TIME, &MEDIUM_TO _SEMI_LONG_TIME, or !MEDIUM_TO _SEMI_LONG_TIME ?

    the way to make it work well would be to have the system pass to legacy tld's and root servers when pointing to a legacy URL, all new URL's should be unique from the old ones so users don't lose anything.

    it has nothing to do with using wifi and everything to do with installing credit card capturing software, if the store had an ethernet port on the wall and you plugged a laptop into it and installed a capture program it would be the same.

    When ISP networks are locked down and searched for this material and the distributors routinely punished, will you still be copying?

    Sure, secure connections for file transfers is already possible, though uncommon right now (sftp, scp) and will increase in popularity if the telecom industry is bline enough to allow such nonsense, the entertainment industry may be big, but so is the combined effort of all the local telco's and cable companies, trust me they don't want filesharing to go away, they want people to keep signing up to download music and movies.

    so you are a supporter of cruel and unusual punishment? what about someone wrongly convicted of molesting their {son|daughter} because their ex-{wife|girlfriend} decides to fuck with their life and brainwashed the kid to say "daddy touched me here!" That shit does happen you know. Prosocutors also get ravenous in abuse cases because it is easy to demonize a man to the jury as a "monster" even if his only crime is giving his 4 year old daughter a bath.

    so any function not advertised is no longer a feature? funny MS never said that windows can play UT but if an update comes out that breaks UT i'd imagine people would be pissed, especially if MS was also selling an FPS which was not broken by the patch. I think you need to shut up and sit down.

    And I would be surprised if a game that looks like Super Mario 64 DS wouldn't run for well more than 3 hours on the PSP. :P

    and those fancier graphics sure will be appreciated when it has to recharge or swap batteries every three hours. The Game gear had far better sound and video than GameBoy but it failed because battery life was far too short. If I have to plan for when my battery dies next when my game is fully charged the battery life is too short

    well they could probably get away with sending DMCA letters to people just for being on the tracker list, but for any legal action (and even possibly to defend against a defamation suit) they would need to get at least enough of the file from you to convince a judge that you were indeed sharing the file.

    all remove the rights to redistribute and modify the software from anyone who agrees.

    Actually the underlying copyright laws remove your right to redistribute modified or unmodified copies, the EULA does not give it back to you.
