I play UT2k4 with the eye candy up as high as my 9700 pro lets me for several reasons.
A0 What the hell did i pay for if i turn the eye candy off B) I see it as somewhat cheap to turn off features that your system can handle because doing so gives a tactical advantage. C) It just looks So good with the eye candy turned on.

usually a home DSL/Cable NAT/Switch will only act as a DHCP server on the LAN side. How are they configuring their routers to act as a DHCP server on the WAN side of the connection?
I would hardly consider anything beaming out gigawtts of microwaves to be "hard to defend", just make it able to direct the beam towarsd incoming threats (or hell, have a lsesr mounted on it for defense, it's not like it needs to run on batteries or anything)

I found WINE to be pretty good for most things, though EQIM (written in VB, uses custom skins) displays screwy, but actually runs better (is very buggy on windows or WINE, but can be restarted right away under WINE and doesn't eat it's configuration files on WINE. Under windows it won't work again for about 15 seconds untill the "pure virtual function call" message pops up
