Considering the fact that the material has to be moved, every consideration must be made to properly secure the material from accidents and theft.
DOE is more than capable of doing this and have done so for many years. Admittedly there have been a few problems but it never started a real situation of calamatious proportions.
I almost signed up to work for DOE in this team capacity after i got out of the Army as a RANGER and i was very impressed with the security, armament and professionalism these folks have at hand. I just did not like the hours.
+++Warning to any fool that thinks it's easy to steal radioactive material from one of these teams. You'll die twice before you get to pull your trigger once!+++
"Sounds like a waste to me. I mean, are we really going to be sending that many more rovers before we start considering sending a human exploration team?"
The answer: Yes, Yes and YES! It costs Billions to send brave people who risk everything to go somewhere we won't ever see and might perish as well.
If someone came up to you and said. "I want to shoot you up into space....."
Don't you think you would like to have an advantage?
I would prefer that they DO send at least some sort of support around a planet to give our people the advantage they need to survive.
Keyboards are the very first thing that get the crap beat out of them.
There was a time when i found this really speedy keyboard i could buy in Escondido for $5.00 I thought "whynot".
Well as you all know i found out real quick what a $5.00 keyboard was.
Sneeze, and a drop of effluvium (snot) got on the board and WHAM!!! no keyboard!
Another $5.00 (and many more)later the same thing happened.:-(
I never burned out a sys with this poor mistake. But as i have been telling my better half lately, be careful about typing with liquids of any sort around keyboards. For thou will be spanked by a drop of soda.
It is embarrassing to admit that I am a tech and because of my greedy nature ($5.00 keyboard)I have subjugated myself through some strange situations because i wanted to save a few bucks.
I loved those cheap keyboards but the kept costing me terribly. Five bucks does add up in the end.
First on my list is Heavy Metal Magazine. I have read it for 20+ years and will probably be buried with one in my hands if they are still around.
I also read: Eweek, News Week, Time, The local weekly rag here San Diego, PC Mag, Tons of Comics i won't go into, Photoshop World, and lots of on-line zines as well.
As much as i read, i'm surprised i get any work done.

I'm at the Comic-Con this year. I can't wait to see Whedon's work up close and personal and hopefully, ask him a question.
We have always known who you are Neo. :-)

Visine or some other eyedrop as well as some of the other posts are very helpful.
Sometimes it is also helpful to give yourself some "away time" from your "baby" and look out a window helps too.
"As a side note, it will cost taxpayers an additional 5 million dollars per year through 2009 for enforcement."
And Popcorn and hotdogs costs how much?
