Some of the high end additive manufacturing machines are incredible in capability, unfortunately they cost upwards of $500-700k. Out of the realm of most normal users, perfect for suppliers of low volume expensive good sthough.
The material used in the stratasys printers is ABS, it's a production grade resin. We have two of these rapid prototyping machines at work, and what they can do is amazing. The biggest problem with these devices is that they have fairly low tolerances usually around.005"(.1mm) and contoured part surfaces are fairly rough. That can be fixed with a little sanding/subtractive machining though.
The capability to think something up and have it in your hands within hours without involving skilled machinists is incredible.
Try out the Epic 4g, I got one recently and the keyboard is great. Not perfect, some keys could be rearranged and god knows why they put a smiley key instead of a.com key, but it's good otherwise.
You may have read him, but I don't think you understood what he was trying to imply. Exponential growth is impossible due to a limited amount of resources, it doesn't matter if people understand it or not. Regardless the 5% growth rate we experience is not exponential.
Google might be good now, but there is no promise they will always remain so when the leadership changes.
Maybe 200 years from now people will curse us for allowing Google into existence. They might wonder how Google could have ever been a benevolent organization rather than the tool of dictators. In fact, they might never know that's how it was at the turn of the 21st century.

It's kind of amazing isn't it?
Who knew the USA could fall so fast.
Yo dawg, we heard you like to watch movies, so we put you in a movie so you can watch yourself watching a movie while you watch a movie!
We should put you up first!
So say we all!
Well you do have to install it and then run it.
Besides it's not like you can run firesheep without Firefox installed to begin with.
More FUD, keep it to yourself. It's not as black and white as your own media portrays it to be.

You still have to procure the raw material, the parts which can't be made via direct manufacturing, and assemble the car.

Must just be you, I get into plenty of 30+ minute long games. (In diamond league for 1v1-4v4)

It's true. I use my mobile phone as an alarm every day, and I've been doing so for about 5 years now.

You're giving too much credit to the OP.
Seriously? Did you even read what the parent and grand parent wrote?

Its a manifestation of human tribalism, they're not part of the FOSS/tech group, they're sheep(insert other deragotory term).
Besides most geeks seem to not place much value on design, they care more about raw specs.
The majority of gamers would disagree with you.
I would assume using the laser as a weapon would classify it as a WMD.
A $50 fine for cheating? I think it's reasonable.
Not enough fark.
I have never played Farmville and I'm not poor.

Major Genres?!?!? Those are all action adventure games!
Hyperinflation sure sounds nice to most people who have large student loans.
What if *shock*, you don't like those games?
Do you have stats to back up your case? I've encountered few if any cheaters in WoW or SCII.
