I do have to agree with this. I had actually let my license lapse and just recently renewed for this reason. In the recent Louisiana floods, there was a call for amateur radio ops to help out with comms b/c basic infrastructure had been literally washed away or overloaded.
With the fit hits the shan, hams are more than willing to step up to the task.
First, I am totally against frivolous lawsuits. If you were the idiot that spilled hot coffee in your lap, then it's pretty much your fault...
But, I have to admit, those earbuds can get dangerously loud.
The other day I heard music coming from the next room. I asked my daughter what she was listening to and she said, "My iPod."
The capabilities of the DS have only begun to emerge. My son has one, and I can't help picking it up every time he leaves it laying about and thinking "hey, wouldn't it be cool if..." (Probably will get my own actually...)
You put some Palm PDA functions in the sucker, aim it at junior/senior high kids, then *boom* you got some PDA junkies for life...
Have you seen the text messaging a 14 year old girl can do? Put one of these in her hands, let her friends get some "me too" going, then fuhgeddaboutit!
We use Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition and it does not play well with Thunderbird/Mozilla mail.
If you receive an email with a virus, the Autoprotect will quarantine your ENTIRE inbox - NOT just the bad file.
I use TB, BTW, so I've just blocked Autoprotect from scanning the TB mail directory.

A camcorder from Fisher...no thanks!
Who the hell is Concord anyway?
GiGaFast? Now there's a name brand! ;)
Now that Sony has bailed on the Palm format, I'm afraid that any new innovation will be nil to none.

Groceries! Delivered! To your door! Did everything except put them up for you... *sigh*
