One has to wonder if the writing of the Bible was done in this way.

50-100 years of bickering (or more), slinging words like denier around, writing bullshit and trying to make people "believe" in it, until finally the "Believers" get so frustrated and angry, frothing at the mouth they start throwing stones at non-believers (aka deniers) in the street, just because they don't believe the gospels written by the nobodies (later to be known as holy men).

Wait a minute... isn't that exactly how the Bible came to be?

    I guess that's birth of a religion 101.

  6. Please read properly and use common sense.

I said "Publicly accessible property" not PUBLIC property.

Schools are not all made the same, they dont have barb wire and gates with security walls, or 8 foot high brick walls surrounding every inch of them.
And even if they did, they are accessible to a good portion of the public (parents and children), children or others going to an evening course or extra curricular activity after hours.

They guy was there for his child's soccer game (thus he was there legally) so you can stop your criminal act for defiant trespass idiotic nonsense.

As I also said, he definitely should be warned, maybe even ticketed. But 15 hours of jail (SO FAR) plus court costs and proceedings with possibly more jail, is like death penalty for speeding.

  7. Its an outdoor plug on publicly accessible property, where CHILDREN might be playing and people might be hosting EVENTS.
If you don't want the plug to be used, PUT A LOCK ON IT.
If your electrical system is so shaky and dangerous, PUT A LOCK ON IT.

We are not talking about someone's house, we are talking about publicly accessible property.

You don't know if he would have done it or not if the policeman was there. Its likely he didn't think anything of it.
Its like picking a flower from a park. Im SURE he could be arrested for theft by taking. But no one would think twice about that. Does it mean a cop should ARREST him and throw him in jail for 15 hours with actual criminals?

He should be warned, maybe even a not put in his file so if he does it a second time he IS arrested. But seriously, this is overkill.

Just to be CLEAR, I agree he should have been warned, ticketed, reported to the school, etc... But an arrest is ridiculous.

And your comment about asking and they will provide a safe socket and extension etc...
    - First off, as if a teacher has ANY idea what a safe socket looks like...
    - Secondly, does a teacher or janitor actually have the LEGAL authority to grant someone the RIGHT to consume the schools electricity for non-school related needs????? We are talking about the legal system here, since we are talking arrest. Have you verified this with a lawyer?

My point after this too long post in response to your too long post is that you should get off your high horse and get some perspective.

However, I again iterate that, what he did was not right, but the punishment should meet the "crime" so to speak.

His son goes to soccer practice there, I have a very hard time imagining that the school asked to press charges.

Actually, ebooks have INCREASED significantly in price over the years, and sharply when APPLE forced itself into the market.

Ebooks where going for 2-5$ when first introduced on Amazon. And gaining ground. But publishers where not happy with those profit margins.

So Apple came in, and took the market by allowing the publishers to fix the price and Apple would take a fixed margin.
I believe Apple has recently lost a price fixing case with the DOJ about this subject in the past year.

Books however are still stuck at a price above paperbacks which is preposterous.

    Now...

    1. I read both articles. They are about someone from the OUTSIDE, developping a small piece of code to attack a SINGLE SPECIFIC system Siemens, that seems to have a vulnerability, and this ONLY works if you have physical access to the MAIN SERVER or manage to hack your way in to it from the internet (which I agree is possible if the state is retarded and has shit for security, such as hooking up the security network to the main network.)

    2. Voltage in wires come from a power supply. It is triggered by a relay. That trigger comes from a command, after an event (card read, button press, software command). If you are standing in front of the door, and you do not have an access card, THERE IS NO WAY TO MAKE THE SYSTEM SEND VOLTAGE. The wires DO NOT HAVE VOLTAGE at all times.

Your comments make you look retarded.

    3. None of the links describe an inmate making a hacking device from a calculator and a piece of gum (like you described). So you are full of shit as my first post said.

    4. Visual verification means, there isnt even a reader at the door. The lock is on the secure side and it is not even accessible. A security guard from a REMOTE STATION needs to acknowledge who you are and physicaly PRESS A BUTTON or command to release the door lock so you can get out/in.

I'm not saying its impossible to hack security systems. Ive installed them for the last 16 years in all sorts of places (including prisons) and Ive seen some really badly installed systems. But there are some basic things that people believe based on movies that are JUST FALSE. I.E. Pluggin a device in a magnetic swipe reader and trying a million codes... Electronic locks require voltage to unlock, which is not local to the door, especially in a prison.
It takes much more than a few electronic parts to spoof a card, also you first need to clone said card.

Also, this doesnt take into account the cameras, and doors that do not have card readers for egress. These doors require remote unlocking with visual verification.

Oh also for those wondering, you cant shoot a reade to unlock a door ;)
