No really, I really did hook up with a Phillipino girl, but that was before I declared CS as my major.

Actually I think it's the yellow hue that's missing. I replaced all three bulbs in a downward facing three light lamp in the kitchen nook where we spend a lot of time. The whole family agreed that the light was too stark. I ended up replacing two of the bulbs and leaving one CF.

Another complaint I have is they are actually quite a bit taller than the incandescent bulbs which can make for some tight squeezes in some lamps. No one complained about the CF in the lamps with shades, so I left those. Also, the torchiere-style lamps that face up got no complaints probably beacause they illuminate the ceiling and don't shine directly on to you.

Conrete is VERY dusty. Take a small chunk of conrete and throw it on the ground. Examine the dust that fell off. Now imagine a Beowulf cluster of these, and there's your frickin cloud.

I only slightly jest. The concept is the same. Potential energy is a lot stronger than you think. I've been next to an avalanche and I could see how a landslide as such can make you think there was an explosion. The sound is spectacular. Probably a similar idea, only there was no slide, just buckling girders wrapped in concrete falling straight down 1300 ft.

The U.S. is the most hated country in the world? Funny, I do travel a bit. In fact, I'm logged into my VPN from Peru (point is I travel int'l a lot). I don't think anyone hates me here because I'm from the U.S. Oh, you meant the foreign governments hate the U.S.? Or did you mean the U.S. special interest groups that hate the U.S.? Or did you mean you just hate George W. Bush? There is a much bigger picture to the world than the small envelope of politics you are talking about. It's amazing what doing a little hard labor next to a Peruvian and trying to pick up a little native dialect will do for personal foreign relations.

Most people are beautiful, especially if you take away all the things the U.S. provides. I gleefully eat with the poor families in Peru who grind their own masa. It breaks my heart that I have so much when I go back home to the U.S. and they have nothing. Yet they are so happy, and happy to know me. Arm-chair politicians like you that make comments like this should check out the real world. Seriously, travel, don't be a prick, smile a lot, and try to speak their language. Make the locals like the U.S. one at a time. Most of them don't even know the news because they are busy living rather posting to /. Thanks for reminding me to shutdown my laptop and show people what it's like to be a member of "the most hated country in the world."

Now is the time where I resort to name calling, "You are a prick."

Remember the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction?
Not to disagree, but I never bought the "wardrobe malfunction" crap. That was done on purpose for some publicty-based reason. My take was that it wasn't the religious community that made a big deal about it, but the news media that didn't have anything better to harp on. Not that the religious community didn't object to it, but still, the media blew it way out of proportion and made it a scandal. Boring things don't make headlines.

Last I checked TV is fairly ambivalent to the religious community. Have you turned on your TV in the past 15 years? If not, I don't blame you. As an aside, I think Hollywood is beginning to get a strangle hold on the various government agencies.

A little history nugget... in 1905 Robertson originally used the round slot instead of the square slot. Due to limited popularity, it was scrapped and switched to the more ubiquitous square slot. And that's where the usage of "square" meaning normal and boring originated.

Then ship the power back to the border states. Of course this would never work because Mexico would find a way to sabotage a good deal to line their own pockets instead of building their economy and just enjoying the tax income.
