    Use a content managment system, that has modular extensions, such as Mambo, XOOPS, Drupal, or the like.

    I don't know of a particular module out there, that would fulfill your requierements, but I do know that a combination of modules would definetly achieve it.

    You can always create your own module, by extending an existing. I believe this will be your best bet.

    A very good point, especially to be pointed out when consulting less tech savvy people, as they too often assume what works in our material world also works in cyberspace.

    In 'real life' one is often inclined to take a risk, if the probability of causing an adverse/unwanted reaction is low. Short term exposure to being caught, observed, watched, or what ever, suggests it is worth to take the risk (e.g. parking in a no-parking zone, to make a quick drop off).

    That is exactly WHAT-WG is about...if you check their mailing list archieve, you will find, that in their case, it has been a cooperative effort between those that build browsers, and those that build sites.

    Quite the contrary with me! I was like "Thought so, now I know I'm switching". And I believe you missed the point. It is not about a waxing procedure (that would be nothing but an advanced PHP solution).

    Ruby is a genetherapy, that makes sure, you will never have to shave again, by removing the folicals from the facial area. The best, you can even choose, if you want to keep the hair on the top of your head, or if you want to keep those handy eyebrows.


    I have also started to look at Ruby and Railz, and I have been 'dreaming' ;) about creating my own CMS with it, as I haven't seen any project yet, that cought my attention. Any one know of any ?

    If we use the term to capture a set of songs, that toghether form a story....no

    We become so involved with the now, that we forget why we actually started doing things the way we do.

    I haven't got a link to this, but I do know, that it has been used by rightwing/conservative thinkers. Argumenting, that an educated population, will produce more people believing they are competent to lead.

    My interpretation/take on this had always been, that the more these people are raving on about competition and societies need of such in every spehre of life, the more those people actually fear just such a concept, leading to policies that superficially seem to support freedom, but in the long term are nothing but population-controlle-sceems....

    Something like that is actually happening in Germany, where existing laws are being used, to hinder VoIP providers from entering the market, and you bet that Telekom (former staat owned telco) is doing everything to keep this kind of competition out of the market!

    Selfpreservation is a natural law, the lies and hypocricy is what bothers me really.

    It will take a while until we see that next digital revolution...

    I'm not convinced! Expecially taking other security procedures into account, which have been successfully impemented in other countries (view poster from the switzerland, a little above).

    Down under the services and business delivered by the financial institutions, remind me very much of methodologies used by south italian organisations, oh, and its countries leader.

    'Doddgy' I think would be the most appropriate term!

    Imagine the following scenario: your host wants to protect your data from any malicious transactions, therefore any changes made, only take affect after 48h's....I would be pretty pissed off, and would ditch any ISP believing such to be an advisable approach to security.

    BUT, a role-back/undo option has also proven to be a helpful tool, though it's as with the hammer, one should use it when apropriate!

    XOOPS should be what you are looking for. It is modular, and you can easily add content, or have people not too computer savvy do so.

    Also check out the School module, put together for a school by one of the core dev's - Mithrandir.

    It is written in OO-PHP, uses the Smarty template engine, has an extensive community for support, is very simple to install, GPL licensed, and is under constant development.

    ...by the way, I'm affiliated with XOOPS, in that I am a community member, mod developer, and translator :)...

    I have to concur.

    Especially taking SECURITY into consideration!

    It is easy to quickly hack a CMS, but if you're a business, security has to be a top priority (even if you don't care about your clients info, your system will be intended to inlcude vital company info, that you don't want your competition to have access to). Using an existing app, you can build on their experience....

    Just my 5c worth (sorry, aussies got rid of the 1 and two cent piece ;) )

    It's a very competitive market, if one vendor says no, just go to the next.
