    I doubt it was the idea of determining that there is a patent about but a method for determining it. That can be patented and methods like this are common to patent.

    Now, there are many implementations to determine clock speed, if intel used one that was patented then it was there bad.

    So, Pentiums have been out for about 10 years. There have been at least hundreds of millions of those sold. So, what.... they are asking for a dollar off each chip. That isn't to bad in the overall sceme.

    But, look out for them to increase the price because of this.

    Sure, Google is great and all, but why do they think they can move onto being a moral authority or a standard-setter? This is somewhat "imperialistic", if you know what I mean.

    Google is great at the search and all but how is this different than the guy on the corner with the ya god sign handing stuff out to every passer. Do they think because they are google that it makes it ok. If they do that's more than a bit arrogant.

    Let's be honest. It's not googles principles that made them successful. THey came along, took a week internet tool (the search) and did it better than anyone else. It's the fact that they did it better than everyone else and got the press for that which caused them to be the big name.

    Not, their great principles against spyware.

    If they get deemed a utility company this might become a grey area. Utility companies are regulated by the state and not federally.

    Hell hath no fury like government that thinks it's not getting it's "cut".

    This may not be a case of them wanting the money. It may be a case of them wanting to make sure regulations are on it so they don't run rampant and do things they shouldn't. SOmetimes regulations are needed when an industry won't police itself.

    Because of the internets coverage every state could regualte every VoIP company (in theory). I wouldn't be like a local phone company that has regions. Thanks to the internet they have a huge encompasing area they can reach which could lead to all states regulating it.

    If each state sets down different regulations that could lead to a logistics nightmare.

    Actually, the speed of light is not constant. They have done various tests and proved that light an slow down.

    Light can slow down. In an open vacuum it is at it's highest speed. Going through materials it slows down a little. The speed change is different for different materials.

    An example is that light slows down going though glass.

    Not all camp grounds have electricity. Sure, the nice little parks with all the slotted out areas have them. But, there are many camping areas back in the woods that don't have power. And they are areas for camping. I know, I have gone there. I first went with the boy scouts as a kid.

    They manage the .com domains so if one isn't bought they can theoritically do whatever they want with it
    And because there are other extensions doing it such as .cc

    THis amazes you. Lets think about it. Bill Gates doesn't have a formal education. No college diploma and he is the richest man in the world. Look at the show the apprentice. The final two. Formal education vs experience of doing it yourself. THe doing it yourself won with Trump. It's all over the place.
