Then how come I get charged for using an ATM, while teller service is free?
Sounds like oyu need to change banks. Most banks only charge other banks' customers for using their ATM machines - and weel they should. You wouldn't expect the Chevy dealer to honor your Ford's warranty - so why expect "Bank A" to dole out its money to customers of "Bank B" free of charge? Fees charged to non-customers are what keep most of those tellers employed.
The same thing has happened w/ bank tellers. In 1999, my company helped launch a regional bank's online banking system. At that time, the average cost to the bank per over the counter teller transaction was close to $1.00. The average cost to the bank for ATM transactions was $0.25. The average cost to the bank of online banking transactions was $0.02.
I hear bankers are really good at math.
As a general rule any job that can be done by a machine, eventually will be done by a machine.
Apple has a 5% market share - give another 3% to all of the *nixes out there, that leaves roughly 92% for Windows.
Since there are 18.4 times more Windows machines than Macs, why are there not only 18.4 times more Windows viruses, trojans, etc? It seems that if the 2 platforms were equally susceptible to malware, there would be something like 3,500 Mac viruses in the wild.
Just for the record, I use OS X, Ubuntu and Windows (2000 & XP).
Web developers need to be able to check their work on Windows browsers. I use Mac OS X exclusively, but I have VPC running Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows XP Home, Windows XP Pro, Mepis Linux and (now) Windows Vista. And, yes, each one renders valid HTML code differently - so this is indeed a very useful thing.
My only New Year's resolution for 2006 was "Don't buy anything made in China".
At first, it was tough - because it seems like just about everything is made in China. But once I got in the habit of checking, I was pleasantly surprised to find that while the lowest priced item may be Chinese made, most often the best VALUE comes from Mexico, Korea, The Philippines, Malaysia or Indonesia.
I realize that many of the components which are comprise non-Chinese items very well may come from China - but at least I'm doing something. And that's better sitting around wondering "why doesn't somebody do something about this?"

On second thought... forget I ever said that. Fiorefox showed the first redirect page, but the address bar correcctly identified the URL. FF never redirected me to the second URL so I missed the "If your address bar still says "google.com"... " bit.
How would one go about calibrating the equipment used to measure such temperatures? Is it possible that after 30 or 40 million degrees their equipment's accuracy starts to degrade?
You are such an idiot!!!!! Everybody knows that Windows/Linux is much more contentious than your petty little VIM/Emacs squabbles. Why don't you start paying attention to the REAL issues - idiot!
I'm never one to apologize for Microsoft, but... compared to "iTunes", "iPod", "iSight", "iMac", "iDisk": "Vista" & "Urge" aren't half-bad. Now let's take a lok at some of the wonderful names that the Linux world has given us: "xmms", "KsCD" or "mplayer" - those names don't exactly roll off the tongue.
While I don't agree with the proposed tax regulations, this is definitely NOT unconstitutional. The Federal Government is constitutionally charged with "regulating interstate commerce". This is much more in line with the constitutional authority of the federal goverment than social security, anti-gun laws, the federal income tax, and about a million other intrusions... but don't get me started.
I'm not so sure about this being the all time worse business miscalculation... "New Coke" still has a pretty solid grasp on that "honor". But this could be a close second.

Keep in mind that they had to upgrade all of their hardware too - that's got to be a couple billion right there. ;)

If Steve Ballmer leaves, what will we do for entertainment?

I think you meant "flying PIG" - not "car", right?
ARD lets you connect from anywhere.
I don't.

But then how do you explain the stability of Linux?

It's not just IE. I just tried the Secunia test using FireFox 1.5.0.1 on Mac OS X 10.4.6. It worked. The Secunia test did not work using Safari.

Shaw and Rogers are the two major cable providers in Canada.
Does it affect a lot of people? You bet.
Yeah, but they're all Canadian ... so who cares, really?

It'll be even sillier when it shows up here again tomorrow ... and the day after that ... and the day after that ...
The sun rose this morning.
How could this possibly be considered "news worthy"?
