The only concern with any of your free products (and I do use most of them) is Trillian. What happens to those MSN users using the basic version of Trillian? As far as I know, they will be cut off on the 15th when Microsoft shuts down third-party access... unless you know otherwise. Like it or not, sometimes you have to use some MicroCrap.

lol... I think that might be the wrong interpretation of the word jammers.

I believe that is grounds for arrest, or at least a fine... Much as it is to block your license plate on the electronically monitored toll highway we have here.

  4. The obligatory Orwell reference on Smartcards to Track London Commuters · · Score: 1

This seems to me much like another case of Big Brother. Eventually, once they can track every movement you make, it's only a matter of time before they can control where you can and cannot go with restrictions on the cards, while monitoring your progress. It's also important to remember that 1984 was set in the U.K., although the reference was subtle.

  5. Performance? on New Nano-ITX 12cm Motherboards · · Score: 1

I wonder what the performance is going to be like with this development. I know that with other SFF (small form factor) boards, there is a performance drop, although the benchmark is getting closer and closer. With the new design here, what did VIA, and what will other manufacturers have to cut out in order to obtain such a small size?

Yes, in fact they are using nano as the definition of the word, small, rather than using it as the prefix. Besides, no-one ever kicked up a fuss about micro-ATX, now, did they?

  7. Re:Drive bay mounting? on New Nano-ITX 12cm Motherboards · · Score: 1

You can always mount it on the bottom as well... most cases have sufficient room left for fans and the like... techincally, you could have one or two 5 1/4 bays going, and then mount another one or two on the bottom of your case... it'd be hot as anything, but you'd also have a lot of power from a desktop box.
