Maybe they are against FOSS for one reason or other and is just using this as an excuse.
Maybe they are just filling in the box on the survey without too much concerns for accuracy or maybe deliberately making silly statements. I do that all the time.
By the way next time you fill out questionaires that has your e-mail tell them you work for the press. Lots's of interesting offers comes your way.
I posted this comment a few days ago when LookSmart got shafted by MS. Seems like it's equally well suited here, not to mention Vodafone Fiasco in waiting and on and on.
Entering agreement and working with MS fits the definition of insanity. You know doing same thing over and over and expect different results.
They are backing off as the bad press and Ashcroft's effort to make USA-Partiot II law is being endangered.
There need to be some penalty on the FBI. Just sending the letter is a violation of their constitutional rights.
An Ooops, we are Soooooo sorry and no internal reprimands just does not cut it.
Remember this shit at election day and ask your reperentative what they have done (not going to do) to fix this abuse. If no good answer. boot the incumbent, regardless of party.

You forget one point. That is that potential payoff and potential cost of trying to get it has to have some sort of relation.
Now take the Insurance idea.
They can leave open the ability to finance the legal defense but cap the potential coverage. Now if you are faced with an insurance company footing the legal bill and only a possible $1000 judgement coverage what are you going to do.
Leave the people alone. Any award over say $1000 has to come out of the persons pocket, ie the Student or 12 year girl declares bankrupcy. Case closed, RIAA lost all the legal expenses.
The old story about insanity defined as "doing the same thing over and over expecting different results", pretty much sums up anyone entering into a close relations with Microsoft.
The list of companies being f****d is legio, can anyone come up with a company that did well?
Not being bought by MS but working as a close partner with MS, and lived to tell the tale.
Reference was made to using their capitalization as a means of acquisition
This is not possible with the exception of companies already owned by the Canopy group.
Any company has a fiduciary duty to their stockholders even privately owned.
Any company that accepted this POS (Not Point of Purchase) will open themselves to lawsuit. Any Due diligence will not pass muster.
There is nothing for the acuired company to be gained. The shares can not be sold, their non Legal business has all but disapeared so no synergy and the like can be had, Nothing as far as I can see.
Thanks for your reply I wish public debate could be done like that.
I actually do agree with you.
FYI, I had to comment here a few weeks ago about an article by Bill O'Reilly claming that we were at WW3 and our actions should reflect a war effort
Just out of curiosity I analyses the casuaties / hour of WW2. Here is the result
First calling this WW3 is an insult to the two first WW's. With 40Mill killed in WW2 this equates to 27.000/ day or ten times the 9/11 Every day. Now if the 9/11 lasted say 2.5 hours then the NY carnage only reached the WW3 intensity while it lasted. Ie for 150 minutes. Not 24/7/365 four years running.
The Good students at have decided this will not stand.
Other world players is Tandberg of Norway and Laplink.
Go here for a thoroughly pissed of Lawyer that has covered this debacle from the onset
Way to go!
Not often can you talk about someone literally using Monopoly money.
Darl said they will get additional $8M from Microsoft this quarter as well.

You are very wrong ;-), he is one of the best Rappers in the business.
Any idea whom he is refering to?
Darl , BillG, McNealy or Cheney?
The guy mentions Morton directly so maybe it has some credibility.

No. It is a belief that there is no god. This is the most logical belief and the hypothesis you must chose if you adhere to Occam's Razor.
It is a belief and as such can not be discriminated against.
I did, Bought one for each bathroom, where it serves double duty.

Treat it as an educational process
We get to learn about:
- Contract Law
- Licensing, notably GPL
- State of the Art media manipulation
- Insights into the stock market and hopefully SEC
- International Law. Notably Australia and Germany
- Criminal Law like Mail-fraud
- History of Unix
In fact the heat is so intense that ordinary air conditioning units would have resulted in 60 mph winds

If you attend some of the future SCO roadshow maybe ask a few of the ones that they have come up with
Second: If you have any questions that you think needs to be included post it over at Groklaw.

Put's it in perspective doesn't it?
<sarcasm>
I used that very same argument when my colleges lamented the shooting death of the 9 year old here the other day but here 5 year old brother.
No reason to give a fuck about unlikely things like that. </sarcasm>
