You are obviously not a Slashdot zealot if you don't memorize all the articles that you've read over the years. February 10, 2005, it was reported that Google was prepared to offer server space/bandwidth due to the fact that Answers.com (heavily used by Google in search results) used Wikipedia to a great extent. I can't say what came of this proposal.
I certainly hope this is getting accross to the public. But seriously, how many people that don't already know about privacy actually care? I almost feel as if these words have been wasted on an audience that could care less. But I hope the message gest accross. I applaud the reporter who took the time to do the research into these privacy matters.
Is Salvatore Wise, Jr. really dead?? Go to this page to read on, and I will quote some of it in case it gets./ed:

Apparently, this community will soon be added to the "Scammed by Sal" list. They have paid Salvator's family through PayPal, because he "died", and being the good people that they are, they wanted to offer what they had. Please, prove me wrong. But until that point, I'm sticking by what I have just written.
Boy will my girlfriend be happy when I finally get rid of that old flux capacitor I have sitting around. I recently upgraded to a 2.42 gigawatts flux capacitor for my time travels. Thats twice as good as the original! The old one has been rendered useless.
This is my opinion... and FYI it is not based on facts at all.
Although I am personally infatuated with Linux as an OS (as many/.ers are), I am really not sure as to how well a PC preloaded with Linux will do. Price, I'm sure, will be low. This may spur some sales, but I am still doubtful. How many new computer buyers (Dell's audience) actually know about operating systems, let alone Linux?
Dell is making a smart move, however, as they are testing the market with a sister company that will not mar the Dell name. This is ingenious, as Dell will not get a bad name if people are unsatisfied with their PCs loaded with Linux. Hell, Dell could go on selling their current PCs, and nobody would ever have known the difference. This is a win-win situation.
My final opinion on how sales will be for this Linux desktop: luke warm. Sorry guys. Props to Dell for trying.
I would have been part of the 90% that skipped the "above text", but it just so happened there wasn't another post, so I was actually bored enough to read your post;). Back on topic though, I must say that OpenBSD was rather easy to install. I did not get caught on any snags, and the installation went clean. Of course I dropped BSD for another Linux distro (more specifically Cobind 0.2), due to what I believed to be BSD's lack of ease-of-use. But that's just me... and I don't even try to portray myself as a Linux-toting/. Overlord.
I sympathize with this man's problems that have to do with computer temps. It's very hard to get the hot air to flow out, instead of having a mish-mosh of air currents within your case. If fans wouldn't work for him, you could just go the hardcore road of water cooling... none of that "hot air" is involved, although a conventional water cooling system is much more expensive then fans. Its the ever debated balance between $$ and quality.
I totally agree, but your solution isn't a realistic one. That's only a great way to LOSE your job. The best thing for companies to do is to pay for any cell phone charges that were caused by after hours work. If they are really generous, they could also pay for a percentage of your internet cost if you use it from home. Either that, or just write it off as "needed for work" for tax purposes;)
