No, no... He's not making it up. Really. The Pope said something about Trump not being a good Christian because a good Christian tries to build bridges and not walls. Needless to say, this has made some folks unhappy and they are (now) very much in favor of keeping the religious leaders (or at least this particular one) out of politics. Then, to top it off, one of the persons given airing and a voice, one that voiced agreement with this principle, was none other than Jerry Falwell Junior.

    No, it is made up.

The pope didn't say what people think he said or so says his spokesperson.

    http://thehill.com/blogs/ballo...

But more to the point. Most Christians in the US are protestant in which they do not revere the pope in the first place. So it is nothing new to dislike or hold contempt for the pope for anyone not catholic because of the supposed restrictions of only selected people being worthy.

As for Fox News Radio, I did not know they had anything other than news on it. I've only heard the solid news part so I will have to take your word for it. To me, it is no different than the evening news on any broadcast network- Mostly news and little opinion except for the fluff pieces.

So no. The donors are not expecting the refugees to owe them anything. But they expect what they donate to be used for the people donated to. If the requires them to do something to help themselves out, it is all on them.

It's not like they have to put 20 hours in at a salt mine or anything. If they want assistance, they can't expect it to be delivered on a silver platter.

Seriously. Do people think they are owed something here? This system was likely being exploited and this is a way to ensure that resources go to those it was intended to go to. The alternative is to either not distribute resources or for the refugees to take a stand.

I'm going to take a wild guess here and suggest it is likely down to the more aggressive nature of men. Everyone knows that bots are used to over bid and drive auction prices up. Perhaps it boils down to the use of these and how aggressive it is employed.

Maybe some stats on how many sales were to bots or people connected to the seller verses sales to random strangers would shed light on this. It seems that the only way to find deals on eBay any more is to pull out early and let the bot win then wait for the seller to contact you saying the winner backed out and they will give it to you at your last bid. Of course i tell them 20% less and hope they are desperate. Sometimes they are.

If you answered yes to any of that, we need to talk about a side project I'm thinking of starting. But I'm going to guess that the answers are no-you cannot do any of that. You might be wondering why I even brought it up.

Morals and ethics is the answer. What you point to as religion can be true without it at all. There is nothing inherently amoral without religion and while religious people like to take credit for morals, they can and do exist without religion. If we define morals we find it means something completely non-religious: a person's standards of behavior or beliefs concerning what is and is not acceptable for them to do.

Sure, religion teaches morals but they can be found without it. I think you are confusing religion and morals.

  21. The problem with that type of thinking is that religious stories and faith cross very little in the scientific realm. Outside of creation, evolution and the big bang, most if not all other science is free of conflict. Its like you are saying that because he needs glasses, he will never play sports or be a good parent. You are attempting to associate a small flaw with failure not even related. Something like 51% of scientists believe in a god according to a poll in the 90s. It has been higher than that too. How is that possible if what you think is actually true?

  22. Lol. Faith..

Seriously. . Many people accept claims of science on faith alone. It is similar to religious faith except it is possible to validate. Though most people neither have the resources or the mental capacity to validate most any complex claim made by science. They have to take someone else word for it and in most cases read it from a book that assumes to be authoritative on it.

This is not too different from what religions ask of people. I think this is also why there is so much animosity towards religion. Sure, the scientific method and all that but as i already mentioned, most people lack the resources and abilities to verify most claims. They have to take someone else's word for it whether it is the original claim, someone claiming to validate it, or someone claiming to be an authority on it (priests).

  23. I didn't know that. Damn.. still i bet they did stuff close to if not the same in the old days. That would be one hell of an asset to still have available.
