Lookie what I found. Here is a press release about X-play... and look what it says about Morgan:
Morgan Webb is well known as one of the true gamer girls in the industry. Objective and passionate, fans look to Morgan for a no-nonsense approach to all the latest and greatest titles. Morgan who will be featured in the July issue of Maxim has also appeared on "ESPN Cold Pizza" and was one of five TechTV talent in Playboy.com's "Women of TechTV" online poll.
Leo is probably out. For one reason, he has said many times he did not want to go to L.A. Secondly, he says he hasn't been approached to stay.
There is more info about it in this part of the thread.

Serously though, what TechTV really missed was a full on show about Open Source to level out the ra-ra pro-Microsoft cast members and the Microsoft Infomercial program they play (Insider?).
That would be something revolutionary... but I am sure the corporate fuckheads at Comcast would put a stop to it really quick.
I agree that the reason it's on TechTV is because of the huge overlap. On the surface it doesn't make a lot of sense, but when you look at the audiences it's perfect.
I am fine with the fact that it's there, and I think that anime itself is underepresented on American TV and I would hate to see ANY outlet get rid of it. As a matter of fact I would love to see a fulltime channel for Anime in the US.
I really hope that G4 makes some changes. I just started watching G4 since I heard about the merger and some are damn near unwatchable. A lot of them are just slickback newsreaders that have the personalilty of your generic "tv personality" types you see on infomercials.
One of the reason I think people like Morgan and Adam on X-Play is while they do a professional job they seem normal. I think that's why so many gamer and geek guys like Morgan, because while she is a good on-air personality she lets her normal personality show up on the shows. G4 doesn't do that... it's totally slick corporate airheads.
Having said that, they do have some good concepts to build on.
Um... I watch the Thunderbirds (or at least Tivo it) every week. And I enjoy it.
It's not a new show... it's a classic. And, BTW, there is a big budget live action version coming out this summer. Info at IMDB.
I would guess that there are many fans all over the world for them to decided to do a live action version of a supermarionation program as old as that.

Oh.. an addition to this... today they started their crossovers as mentioned on the site.
They played two previous episodes of X-Play with lovely Morgan and Adam on G4. I doubt that they would have done that if they beleived that the hosts were going to go away.

Leo Leporte said somewhere on his leoville site that most all of the TechTV talent has been approached about staying on EXCEPT for him.
Basically, that means that the outward face of X-Play, TSS, and Unscrewed would basically be the same.
Wish I had a link to back this up, but it's burried somewhere within his huge messageboard.
A few of the anchors of Tech Live have gone on to CNN to work. Maybe CNN would hire some of the crew for their Hot Wired stuff. It's a long shot, but a CNNTech would be a nice spin-off.
And they could fire Daniel Sieberg and everyone associated with him. Idiot idiot idiot. I am considering registering danielsiebergisanidiot.com and doing a hate site about him. He knows nothing about tech and he's just another idiot face man.
I would pay good money just to see Morgan Webb read the phonebook every week, though...
Oh yeah.. China and India are known for their tollerance of popular campaigns.
China is STILL a communist nation and when people stand up they get stepped on (do you remember Tiananmen Square or were you too young).
India, though a democracy, still has the legacy of a caste system that makes the majority of people inferiors to a group of the upper crust.
The only people that could REALLY fight for these people are other governments using the WTO treaty... and as we saw last week the Bush administration absolutely refuses to do this. Your reasoning is deeply flawed.
So for every dollar Americans sent abroad for outsourcing, the world sent more than three dollars to the US. for 'insourcing.'"
BUT WHERE DOES THAT MONEY GO??? Here is alert for you, that money does NOT go to the economy as a whole, it goes to stockholders. I.E. it goes to rich, not your every day joe.
And if you believe in outsorcing you, by definition, don't believe it will automatically trickle down to the public as a whole in goods and services. The multinational corporation has the ability to use labor markets in other places, so any jobs that are created might or might not be in this country! So outsourcing is pretty much fueling itself. It does NOT benifit the American economy as a while.
Repeat this with me 5 times: Just because something is good for american corporations DOES NOT mean it's good for the economy as a whole.
But not everyone RUNS the business in a small business. They have employees as well, and it's not as easy or economical to outsource overseas in a small business.
What the corps or Bush doesn't want you to know is that the MAJORITY of all jobs are created in small business, not in corporate settings.
We should stop corporate welfare NOW and put money into the real job creation machine... small business.
This is a dumb argument when most US Corps, no matter where they put their H.Q. pay NO TAX AT ALL.
Anyway, seeding corporate growth is wrong and is never going to create jobs anyway. Most people are employed by small business in the U.S., and this is the group that really pays the taxes and this is the group that the government is ignoring. Put some resources there!
No one ever points out that the biggest crybabies in the U.S. economy today are actually the C.E.O.s.
Waaaaaa... our company doesn't make enough Waaaaaa... *I* don't make enough Waaaaaa... governmental regulations are too tough (when they all but don't exist) Waaaaaa... corporations pay too much in taxes (when the vast majority pays no tax at all) Waaaaaa... our business plan is failing, we need a government bailout
we need to take ALL GOV'T investment out of corporations now and put it back into the REAL job engine of this country, the American small business.
When jobs are oursourced overseas or we bring people in with H1 visas they tell us "let the free market decide" and that we shouldn't be "protectionist."
But when one of their corporate buddies starts to have a problem, they pull out the guns. It goes for music as well as drug companies (not allowing us to reimport drugs from Canada is definitely protectionist).
Boy... how long can any of us hold out faith in our government?

And I was looking forward to buying a 802.11 router based on Windows CE that breaks down every 3 hours.
One less market for Microsoft to dominate. We should all be happy.

I'm all for this.
This means Harry Shearer can do lots of other work, esp. political satire on N.P.R., and not need to be paid much to do it.
call it a political satire subsidy.
It was a joke.
Take the burr out of your ass.

oh shit... that is FUNNY!
GWB did not propose spending one dime on universal broadband. All he said is that all Americans "ought to have it."
To paraphrase, when it comes to jobs all Americans "ought to have one" too.
He has the exact same plan for that too, thas is do nothing at all.
I guess that is what he means by "strong leadership."
It's really amazing...
