AFAIK, developing a non commercial clone of a powerful OS for a computer that is little more than a toy isn't likely to get you blown to smithereens. The chances of some critical failure to happen for this guy are huge -- the guys at NASA fucked up a minor detail and whoops, there goes Challenger and everyone on it. You think a lone man can create a failure-proof rocket? If he manages to attempt his launch, more than likely he'll end up dead. Sure, follow your dreams and all that, but one should realize when one's dreams are more than likely fatal.

I'd think that REAL Linux users would want to do everything in their power to AVOID coming in contact with AOLers. It seems to me that a Linux port of AIM is unnecessary,

Given the support GAIM and other AIM clones have, I don't think you can say that such ports are unpopular or unnecessary.

First of all, they're Japanese katakana, which are used mostly to write foreign words. The katakana you see are for ku-ri-su, which corresponds roughly to my first name. I used Unicode to write them -- it's just like using number codes for ASCII. For example, the Unicode for "ku" is 12463, so you would type ク to get that character - .

They have an existing trademark on the word Diablo when used in conjunction with a movie title: "In the complaint, Blizzard said it intends to produce a film called Diablo and based on the game. The suit notes Blizzard owns a trademark, filed in April 1996 and approved in July 2000, for that Diablo movie mark, which the suit also notes is currently being contested by New Line. Further, Blizzard also has a pending application for a movie called Diablo II: Salvation, filed in February 1997 and approved in July 2000."
