NWN was most definitely lacking in some undescribable quality that made me give up on it not even halfway through the game. Fallout 1/2, Baldur's Gate 1/2, Planescape: Torment? all classics. If they had been books, i'd have read them in one sitting.
NWN? i was about as attached to the characters in that one as i was to the "NPCs" of diablo.
this somehow doesnt surprise me, that marketers would eventually come up with stupid shit like this to try and sell their products.. the game industry is so huge nowadays, and people are gonna try to outdo each other and do the next thing that causes a stir. its just like tv, or movies, or any other entertainment media.. you got yer FOX-type and you got yer PBS-type.
i find it amazing how all these next gen games are rendering such detailed and complex scenes in realtime nowadays, given that you're running em on an appropriately endowed machine. but quite frankly, after much consideration i think i'm just gonna stick with my dusty 486 which purrs along with ms-dos and a few gems called wolfenstein, day of the tentacle, star control 2, etc etc etc. not to sound like a bitter old man or anything.. just that i seem to prefer the pc games of the late 80s up til about '98 to almost anything new these days..
...these people would be counter-sued by the makers of Space Taxi.
