  1. Re:Newby question: why not PS4? on Sony Announces 'Superslim' PS3 · · Score: 1

I think they made the investment back long ago, seeing as they sold 60 million of them, plus a ton of games. As for admitting they have nothing, I'm not seeing that here. If anything, this is just a parts reduction to lead the console to it's budget days, to prep for a ps4 announcement sometime in the spring or e3. As for passing the savings on, the console launched at 499/599, and is now $250 with a bundle. that's one hell of a price reduction over it's lifespan.

Sony's never sold first party drives for the ps3, it uses any standard 2.5 inch drive you can get off any pc hardware site. Installation was pretty painless, and was even detailed in the consoles manual.

ah, this was probably done so they could reduce the price to make it a budget system, like they did with the PSP, ps1 and ps2 before it. You literally have no idea what your talking about, so blinded by sony hatred as you are.

The truth hurts sometimes though. For as much irrational hatred slashdot seems to have for them, they have done a lot to add features to the platform via the near constant firmware updates.

and you can get a ps2 for about the same, but people still complain about ps2 BC on the ps3. I guess the big difference was the ps2 was still getting a lot of content when the ps3 killed BC, while the GC has been dead for many years now. Heck, even the wii is all but dead now, and the wii U isn't even out yet.

True, but I can't help but think a higher res/better fps camera could have made the move a much better experience. Really hoping sony bundles a good quality camera with their next system. they have been flirting with the tech for a decade, long past time they make it standard.

Of course, back then they didn't think so. A Black person did not have an natural right to freedom if they were slave. The confederates argued that bondage was the more desirable and beneficial state for both parties involved, and would defend that statement with their lives, and indeed, did. In a more modern sense, some believe that marriage in a natural right for all, others, that it should only be allowed for certain groups.

How is bluray or the ps3 sinking? the ps3 is rapidly catching up to the 360, and blu-ray is the industry standard now. What is killing sony was their TV division, and model saturation.

Learn the difference between sony and sony BMG. The hardware folks, videogame folks, etc had nothing to do with the rootkit, and had no knowledge of it's existence. The hardware folks tend to be very good to any honest, paying consumer.

And, interestingly, received none of the complaints sony got. I suppose that's because sony scrapped it very early in the generation, while Nintendo kept it till pretty recently. Nintendo's biggest problem is they are very arrogant, and seemingly think nothing of any other developer. their consoles are designed to play the games they want to make, and not what others may want to do. That's why the 3ds lacked power, a second stick, or even an online network worth note.
