I think this guy is talking bullfluff. Case in point: "possibly" making it easy to upgrade. Either the console, err 'computer' was designed from the bottom-up with the idea to make upgrades simple, or it wasn't. Saying "possibly" tells me the marketing department filtered this one, and poorly at that.
Perhaps they should consider calling it a different name other than PS3? You know, catchy in the way only a Sony can be: like MX-DJi7, or PEG-UX9875J.
I speculate this is merely a 'Warning' because 1.25 mill' is chump-change to AOL. I'd expect that if AOL doesn't move quickly on the promised changes, the fine will escalate to the tens or hundreds of millions.
This harkens back to similar practices in the 1990's by Canadian cable companies who would automatically upgrade your cable service with each introduction of new channels, and you'd be stuck paying for it. They combined this with very aggressive Customer Srvice staff who would try to weasel you into a middle of the road package when you called to cancel. They got fined big time, in the tens of millions, IIRC.
As in Canadian Football League. We've been waiting for a decent video game for our league. Now's the time I say.
C'mon, the field is 25% wider, 10 yards longer, the end zones are twice as long. You can score single points on missed field goals or on punts, our balls are bigger (ahem!), and we only have 3 downs to make the ten yards. That, and you can knock a zero or two off of the salaries.
Anyone know the contact particulars for 989 or 2k Sports?;-)
Microsoft just filed for the patent claiming rights over the "technique by which a user may access a music downloading store via an internet search client" in one aspect, and in another aspect "the technique by which an internet search client may provide access to a music downloading service".
OK, but here is the issue that I think people need to be aware of before buying an ebay itunes gift cert. (then again, maybe I don't understand something.
In order to redeem a gift certificate, you need to have an account, and in order to have an account you need to have an address in the USA and a credit card matched to that address.
