  2. Aldous Huxley on the (then) future on Trauma Pill Might Help Ease Emotional Pain · · Score: 1

I think Huxley foresaw this in "Brave New World." From the foreword of the First Perennial Classics edition published in 1998. "The love of servitude cannot be established except as the result of a deep, personal revolution in human minds and bodies. To bring about that revolution we require, among others, the following discoveries and inventions. First, a greatly improved technique of suggestion--through infant conditioning and, later, with the aid of drugs, such as scopolamine." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scopolamine

I play mp3s in iTunes on my 604e-based Power Computing Power Center Pro 210, and it works great. Boot over to YDL and I run xmms, also great.

  9. IE 5.5 looks worse now anyway :P on MSN Blocks Mozilla, Other Browsers [updated] · · Score: 1
I'm using my Compaq Windows 95 pitiful excuse for a computer at work with IE 5.5. What's funny is the site looks waaay worse now than it did before. I can't even read the text. Not only is Microsoft furthering the case against them, they are screwing up the display for people who are using their products.

I can't wait to get home so I can access it with OS X or PPC/Linux :)

  10. They're forgetting their roots on Shut Down Metallica, Not Napster · · Score: 1

Metallica started out as a garage band who depended on live shows and bootlegs of those shows to grow into the corporate monster they have unfortunately become. They need to think about the bands who are starting out like they did years ago. Bad Metallica .

I just can't believe that they are the ones who initiated this jihad against napster. I would have expected Britney Spears or some other teen-pop band :P

  11. Re:What about Mac OS X? on Linux And The PowerPC Architecture · · Score: 1

MacOS will be great for people who want the stability and legacy apps, but for serving anything and everything you want to serve and accessing the world of open source software, Linux on the PowerPC will be the way to go.

  12. 3Com solicits PPC/Linux users too on 3Com Releases GPL'd Drivers · · Score: 1

I saw a rep from 3Com looking for someone to do contract labor for them while perusing the linuxppc-dev-digest. It looks like they are really wanting to work with everyone! This is a good thing ;)
