    Since when did the public purchasing something denote creation? If someone makes something, and it's a piece of shit, and no one buys it... it was still created.     If you folks SAW what a microwave zapped CD looks like afterwards, you would realize that first of all, there are gaps of a few millimeters in the silver, plus any dye sandwiched in the poly, would cook/vaporize during the zapping, so it's kinda moot as to where the bloody data IS stored on the CD...

    All of the CDs I've zapped in a microwave was done on the one in my kitchen. No weirdness occured, i.e. smells, tastes in food, smoke, etc. For max cool factor, before you hit "start", kill all the lights in the kitchen, the light show is quick, but VERY cool. :)

    I've found, by killing many CDs this way, that 3 seconds on an 800watt microwave is just about right. I would say 2 seconds on a 1000watt, and the 5 seconds mentioned earlier for the little 500-750watt dorm style ones. Ever look at a CD that's been zapped that way? Looks REALLY cool both during and after, and no way in HELL will data still be there, nor the CD be useable for data storage ever again.

    You can always tell her that you can take a cruise instead... I don't THINK they have the TSA BS to go through to get on a ship, especially one NOT registered to the US... just a thought. PS: I gave up flying a while ago. If I need to cross country, and don't think my current vehicle can do it, or I just don't want the miles on it, I rent a car... all in all, about the same price or less, compared to the insane ticket prices, plus luggage, etc., and the feeling of flying in a bus, (no food service? When the hell did THAT become a smart idea?) not a commercial aircraft.

    Let's say the person had taken a photo, and put that up in a gallery, do you think they would be suing? Or saying "thanks for the free advertising"?     Right now, we should be taxing gas more to encourage it's abandonment. Only after there is an overwhelming majority of hybrid and/or electric vehicles on the road should we be considering something like this, because once you're not using gas any more, you still need to fund roads...

    You know... where I live, I'm paying nearly $4.00 a gallon of gas. I don't have a job, and my wife's in a nursing home. If you get your wish, and they tax gas even more, to "force" me off of gas...well, I guess I could sell my vehicle for scrap and buy a bicycle, since there is no way I can afford one of these wonderful electrics or even a hybrid vehicle. I guess on the plus side, the exercise of riding a bicycle in the snow would sit in stead of me doing any other type of exercise, right? Since I'm probably just a lazy good for nothing anyhow, since I don't have your level of finances.

    Just as an FYI, my LG Optimus T (and yes, I shudder to think of this bullshit buyout) came with tethering right out of the box, no fees, etc. and yes, a 5gig cap before throttling, but still, no odd software, just enable it in the settings, and you're gold. I wonder if I can use my phone on Virgin Mobile after this shit goes down, because you all should know, that there is nothing WE can do to stop it... the FCC or the SEC will have to stop THIS kind of "Insanity"...

    What CRACKHEAD wrote THIS law??? Not only is this sheer idiocy, but borders on Nazi-like behavior. This is OVER THE COUNTER meds not “drugs”, per se at least not as far as any NORMAL definition of the goddamn word is. “Drugs”, as far as MOST legal definitions go, refer to things like marijuana, heroin, cocaine, etc. WHEN did ibuprofen become a “dangerous drug”? Several years ago, when wisdom teeth were coming in and I had no dental insurance, I was taking 3000mg every 3 hours yes, ever 3 hours. That means a small bottle a DAY to combat the pain. Wow pretty goddamn dangerous as I’m sitting here typing this goddamn rant out afterwards. I didn’t see what state it’s in, but you can bet your ass it’s far from mine unless it’s California.

    Pay as you go internet... what neanderthal thought up THIS fragrant idea? Not to mention the added cost to the consumer for seeing ads, but here's a fun one. I pay $15 a month for an online MMORPG (no, not WoW). Guess what will be one of the first things cancelled if I have to start paying a per gig/meg/? fee in addition to my monthly internet service AND to the MMORPG? The sheer ramifications of having to pay on a per use basis boggles the mind. IF this load of shit goes through, here's my NEW pattern... Start the computer, check email very quickly, cut off the network connection, then maybe play something that DOESN'T require internet, etc. Blog? HA, you're funny. No more for me. Read/post to Slashdot? Don't hold your breath. I'll start buying a regular newspaper, bitching about not getting my phone book... essentially going back to say 1990, with a few small perks, IF I want to pay for them, like email, and online gaming. What a crock of shit...
