In my opinion, the beauty of google is the LACK of image ads. I dont like to use yahoo et all for precisely this reason.
Hopefully the next upstart search engine will go back to less intrusive, text only adverts.
A typical norton scan of my PC takes about 40mins. Does this mean I cant log into my online banking until the scan is finished and the results sent back. I could walk to my branch quicker than that!!
What about the poor people on dial up connections.
Im wondering what the effects of actually re-writing the information on the card might be.
If ANYTHING on there is unencrypted there is room for mischief.
Whats to stop you changing the room number on the card in order to get into the room next door??
I think its some kind of popup setting causing a problem as the online banking opens in a new window.
I actually live in Canada (moved last year) and find that in general banks have way less security with their online services over here. My current bank supplies the first 3 digits of your account number and even has an option to remember the password.
Crazy
I used to like opera before I found firefox and dropped it because I couldnt use it for my online banking whereas firefox works fine and doesnt crash all the time.
Just took up their free offer, installed it and..... it still doesnt work.
Perhaps in a later release guys. Nice gesture though.
PS, if anybody can use opera with HSBC UK online banking then let me know how.
I used to work for a borough council in the UK and they extensively use windows 95.
Drove me nuts but I remember when the blaster worm hit and it the 95 users were the only ones in the building with their machines switched on.
Where I live, this wouldnt last 5 minutes before some kid runs off with it.
It would be great to have some kind of scary message with your face on it appear whenever somebody approaches your grave though.
I graduated in Software Engineering from a UK university back in 2002, laptops were just starting to take off for students and only one person on my course actually had one. He was the guy with all the gadgets and only took it to play games.
I would argue that it was more practical being able to quickly sketch notes and diagrams and I learned far more without the distractions.
My current Girlfriend is a law student at in Canada and I was shocked when I went into her lecture and EVERY student has one, they all insist they are essential and couldnt do without them.
Anyway, IMHO, they are way less useful in a comp/sci engineering environment when you are supposed to be learning theory as opposed to taking notes.
As for my kids. They can have one when theyve delivered the newspapers to pay for it.
I opened a bank account in Canada last year and was shocked at the poor security with the online banking. My UK account requires a 12 digit internet banking number, my DOB and 3 of a possible 10 digits of a security number. None of which are related to the account number.
My Canada account (Scotiabank - name and shame) requires the number from my card and a password. There is even a "remember this card" link. Unbelievable.
I really miss my BigTrak (I think thats how you spell it).
10m forward, right 40 degrees, forward 5m. Shit batteries died.
Awesome toy. Bring them back I say
Did anybody ever sit and watch "House of the Dead". I got halfway through and fell asleep.
It was made especially worse by the cutscenes with clips from the arcade game.
If somebody is naive enough to allow their PC to be used as a zombie, I can't really see them rushing out and installing service pack 2.
MS should introduce some commercials or something to tell Joe Average that he should patch his windows.

And already Microsoft is planning to pollute it.
My god. She's ugly.
Tunarez sounds like a 0-day fish website. Better not look at that from work.

I'LL DO IT
That sound pretty cool.
Doesn't Disneyland already have one of these. I visited there a few years ago and can remember a strange train which took you to the parks...
What an unlucky guy. Typical American name I suppose though. "Hey Mr, do you prefer being called Randy or Virgin"???
