    Yes it works on win2k, you have to modify the code a little bit. The javascript console is your friend. I have to figure out how to make it work on linux, the batch file is not created on my filesystem.

    It works great on windows 2k but i didn't figured out how to make it work on linux yet. I tried changing the path of the batch file but i'm not able to create any file on my filesystem using this bug.

    If i go outside after playing "follow freeman" level in half-life 2, i still hear bombs and machine guns. I also look around for combine soldiers, snipers or something worse.

    When i see police officers on the streets or the huge screens showing adverting in our subway stations, it reminds me the beginning of the game (the "pick up that can" scene and the screen outside the train station)

    -10 F is so hot, where i come from temperatures can drop below -40F in january and february. Ground and lakes are frozen from november to april and we get lots of snow. That what i call a real winter.

    Seems to be a good way to create encrypted communication channels. Encrypt a message in one of the viruses you receive and execute it. Your computer will spread viruses with your encrypted message. Get the desired recipent on your contact list and screw carnivore.

    I have to convert an old oracle 8i database on Windows NT with a client written in visual basic+ to Mysql on Gentoo linux. I use php to write a web interface to that database.

    Now, with php5, my classes will get private and protected members which i missed with php4. I'm wondering about try/catch style error handling, will php5 have those? I'm looking at changelog right now, if you know anything about the goodness of php5, please let me know

    Try C&C generals zero hour. You can play GLA forces who looks like Al Quaida. The GLA have a terrorist unit that yell "No cost is too great" or "They will fear us". The terrorist explode when near ennemies and they can even use ordinary car to do a suicide attack.

    The GLA forces uses bacteriological weapons (lots of antrax) and the stealth general can hide his weapons of mass destruction.

    They also use arms dealers and black markets to get new weapons and funding and tunnel networks to attack and move troops.

    Tell me if you dont think the GLA looks like Al Quaida

    Hmmm.. Ice shelf breaking. This reminds me a cool movie. I think they should build it on solid ground instead of ice or make it mobile so they can retreat if the shelf is about to break.

    I know about no-ip mail reflector, i already use no-ip as a dns provider for my dynamic ip. The problem with their mail reflector is the cost. It not very expensive but pay for something on the internet is cumbersome when you don't own a credit card and dangerous if you do own one. I also have to pay for the CAN$ -> US$ exchange rate which is getting better but still not 1:1.

    Also, i dont want the cost of running my own mail server to increase because some dumbasses cannot secure their servers. I'm glad windows is now secure , no more buffer overflows, no more email viruses with outlook 2003 and no more worms that spreads with the help of open ports.

    Am i too optimistic?

    As long as i still can run my own smtp server.
    They can limit outbound port 25 because i still can forward my email through their official smtp server. If they limit inbound port 25, it will suck big time.

    This shit looks like the Running man movie starring our governator. In this movie, law like patriot act are enacted and anyone that the governement or the entertainment industry does not like are sent to the running man show. The department of justice looks like a public corporation and has an entertainment division.

    The united states of the future definitely looks like what we see in that movie but i guess we won't be saved by our governator.

    When your toaster tells you that you've got 2 potential e-harmony dates, and your fridge won't shut up about your lousy tv dinner diet, it will be time to move to the mountains.

    Thats why i keep my plain old trusty soldering iron handy. If one day my fridge says ANYTHING about my diet, it will taste my screwdriver, warranty be damned. Also, i beleive there is a lots of companies (insurance and marketing) that wants to know about your diet and other things and your household appliances will happily broadcast anything they know.

    I have compiled it and running it right now. That code sucks 99% of cpu but no crash. I have an "old" 2.6.1 kernel compiled from gentoo development-sources. It seems that exploit does not work on my machine.

    No carrier loss here, 5 minutes and still running.

    I created myself a linux job by selling linux and openbsd solutions to one of my customers. Linux do a great job replacing aging and worm ridden NT servers.

    Furthermore, when you search linux on yahoo hotjobs , you will find thousands of linux jobs. In Québec, were i live, linux jobs are also available.

    Easy, try nessus. Nessus scans networks for security vulnerabilities and spyware as well. To scan for spyware, it needs remote registry access so give it an account with sufficient priviledges. Just look at the plugins page to see which spyware it can detects.

    Typical MS bullshit. Windows itself is a spyware. Various windows components send loads of info back to home. Just think of internet explorer, windows media player and windows update.

    Its easy to see when data is transmitted, just install ethereal or any other packet sniffer. You may see what is transmitted but sometimes it is encrypted.

    Many commercial software also phones home like adobe acrobat, winamp and any software that uses compulsory registration. Even my deskjet 610 drivers contains registration nagware that transmit data back to HP, i had to manually edit the registry to get rid of it.

    I soon realized that the only two ways i could live without being spied upon is using only open source software or disconnect from the internet. I use OpenBSD's ssh authenticating gateway to prevent my windows computer from reaching the internet. Windows does not provide any ssh client so it cannot try to bruteforce my password
