Spoofing of content is nothing new. Even using the hosts file like this to redirect you to fake content while an innovative use of the hosts file, is just a new trick for an old gag.
The only real way to clamp down on something like this, is through the better education of the user base. So long as people still buy into these sorts of attacks, hackers and other people of ill repute will still commit them.
People manipulate online review and rating systems all the time, whats interesting is that this is on such a local level that it brings the corruption much closer to home. That being said, it does not seem that this is a very uncommon occurrence.
That's really just a semantics issue that this point.
No matter what power sources we end up developing, be it wind, solar, fusion, dark matter etc, we will need a way to store it for future use.
It's really positive to see things like this coming out of the stimulus package. Yeah there's some serious question as to how well its going to do getting us out of this recession, but that being said, it does have some nice provisions in it for science related improvements, including a nice sized boost to NASA. New York taxes everything, a lot of it has to do with the maintenance of New York City. They get subsidies from all sorts of things, taxes, bus fares, chances are if you buy something in New York, some of that money goes to New York City. In fact, even living in New York City is taxed.
Seriously, what kid wants to play a cop when they can play Leader of a Rouge nation bent on sending missiles against their uh, playmates?

In all seriousness this could be a fun idea, but are they just going to be selling boxes of software or do they have a hardware vendor(s) in mind to demo some products? The article mentioned a few, but this could have some potential, and with the way the economy is going I am all for more stores opening up hiring more people.
How long till we have ex-con guys with arms as big around as a SAN busting into peoples houses and apprehending them for both money and the entertainment of people who love to watch skinny jerks try to wrestle with a human tank?
I know it's really only a minor point here, but in New York at least parents can let their kids drink, so long as it's only their kids and it's at home.
I'd agree with that, it seems as games get flashier they don't increase in quality and often you'll see games that look good but play like crap. Take the First Rouge Squadron for N64, great game with two crappy remakes. Why is it that the first thing out of most people's mouths is a question about the graphics?
