Not exactly. If you account for SG&A, R&D expenses and Amortization, they made a neat $134.93M in Operating Loss. And during the first quarter of this year alone, they have managed to make an Operating Loss of $167.21M. Isn't that a failing business?
If you look at their balance sheet, their Total Equity is about $28.48B. The value of their investment in Alibaba is worth about $32B. Now, isn't that a failing business?
What do you mean by severe? Intel is a virtual monopoly in the desktop/laptop market, with AMD on the death bed. Consumers might as well have to digest it.
Intelligent headphones that can sense the pulse, temperature of my ear etc. What crap? I use commodity $6 headphones and I am happy with them. Now Intel and friends want me to buy separate $60 loaded with crap headphones, that will sound just like my $6 headphones . And I will have to carry 2 sets of headphones. That's exactly why monopolies suck.
Who takes any statements coming out of India seriously? I mean they were talking about making a scramjets by 2008, first manned space mission by 2015, a $50 computer for the masses by 2005, converting water to petrol... the jokes are endless. India still has power cuts of many hours per day in major urban centers and supplies power to rural areas for only a few hours each day. More than half of the population craps in the bushes. The new Indian President is begging the west to install mega factories in India as part of the 'Make in India' campaign to provide employment for the masses.
No, it won't. China will simply call the papers a handiwork of western forces to undermine China. It will call the papers as baseless and fabricated. Nevertheless they will promise to investigate the issue further. Pause for a few months. The issue will be forgotten. Things will be as they were. Things like 'blowing up' happen in the west. Not so in the east. The west tries to advocate and follow democracy. The east tries to advocate and follow corruption. Corruption can buy corruption.
If I remember correctly, you are talking absolute non-sense Mr. Daryl McBride.
The few infringing lines of code that they claimed and showed were actually UNIX header files and some API's. Novell clarified that UNIX header files and API's are in the public domain having been transferred to UNIX Sys Labs. SCO showed code from 'Berkeley Packet Filter' which then was shown to be under the BSD license. Then they went to show some macro definitions for silly things like MAX, MIN. When it got clarified by Torvalds that there were very very few ways to implement those silly macros in the *right* way, SCO just went mum. SCO refused to show anymore infringing source code and went about selling legal protection from "we want tell you" product. Intel, IBM and a few other companies pooled some money and told small and medium companies that the pooled money would help them defend against the stupid cases SCO was threatening to file against them if they did not pay their legal protection fees. Miscrosoft on the contrary went ahead and purchased legal protection from SCO for their UNIX tool-kit for windows, in order to help fund SCO in their legal litigation and there by undermine Linux.
Basically SCO lacked the ability to innovate and tried to become a troll.
I am sleepy and tired... Before I go to sleep, let me share it with my friends on social media. Let me wait and see what they think before I go to bed...
Whatever it be. Branson hopes it won't turn out to be a 'winner takes all' market. Branson does not want to be in one. On the contrary if its a 'losers only market', I don't think he would have a problem with that. After all, Virgin Atlantic was bleeding until recently.
They have surpassed billion (US) dollar levels. Mumbai is the worlds 9th most costliest city in terms of real-estate prices (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/property/pictures/8892109/In-pictures-The-worlds-20-most-expensive-cities-to-buy-property.html?image=11).
Those and smartphones. Smartphones are making kids dumb. Kids who are addicted to social networks, games, *tube, are loosing interest in activities requiring use of paper and pen like Mathematics, Physics. They are also spending less time in physical activities and more time sitting on the couch. Making them low hanging fruits for AI to outsmart them.
Hey, but every since Marissa joined as the CEO the companies share price nearly doubled. I don't know how much of the price rise is attributed to Alibaba's price rise. But I think Marissa is not the only person who should take the brunt in the Yahoo story. I think the screw up began right from when Terry Semel was the CEO. Semel was one clueless CEO who made the most out of Yahoo, he was a freeloader. Carol Bartz lacked vision too but at least she knew how to streamline operations and turn Yahoo back into profits. Marissa burnt the balance sheet in hopes of reviving Yahoo but she again lacked/lacks clear vision and direction.
I have been hearing about this Flash Bainite for years now. This news is too old and was covered in Gizmag many years ago (http://www.gizmag.com/stronger-steel-in-a-flash/18882/).
Perfectly explained. I think that's what people without the ability to own material told themselves to hide their inability and satisfy their ego. In contrast, I find the west to be more non-materialistic.
This guy blew it up at MS and the board scrambled to relieve him out of his chair ASAP. That didn't go well with him so now he is busy giving his "wisdom" retrospectively. Where were your statements when project Astoria started? Remember, MS is your screw-up.

It doesn't. But those are the terms CEO's usually bargain for when they get hired.
If this goes to production int he future, people will have to fend off their data from 2 types of viruses. Software and physical.
...consumer reaction will be swift and severe.

Personally, I'm rooting for Trump to come up just shy--like 1200+.
My guess, Trump might manage to go past 1237.
On the contrary Thaine Creitz wants to increase investments in India and recruit more in India.

I used to like Pizza until I tasted one at Pizza Hut recently. Now I almost puke at the sight of a Pizza.

Looks like this is another publicity stunt, just like the hoax where a man deleted all his files with a rm -rf .

Principle? Which one? I think its usability. Windows 8 and thereafterwards is unusable.
Food for thought

It also means nothing at the same time.

Read Deepak Chopra's books. Once you are done go read the entire Chicken Soup series followed by Rich Dad, Poor Dad series. That should suffice.

What? The managers get rich?
