    I wouldn't worry about your kids seeing the world through their PC screen. Video cards are getting better with each generation and soon there will be little need to go outside to see the real thing.

    I think it will probably mean more Macs sold. It may be hard on the existing owners but I think a lot of Windows users will give it a look now.

    How about an Itanium? They'll run Oracle (or other databases) and many support that much memory. I've seen some early Itanium 1's on Ebay for not a lot of money.

    In research, the issue of tcp replacement is a common one. THe solutions seem to either recommend making some minor tweaks (a "light" version of TCP!) or to scrap it entirely in favor of protocol X. With that knowledge, I will keep my excitement in check as I get around to reading the article.

    To clarify: Redhat Enterprise Linux is the new Advanced server. So yes, there are three versions but ES is an updated version of AS.
