If you're still writing individual letters separately by the time you sit written exams, you'll write at about half the speed of someone with good joined-up handwriting.
Oh please...i doubt thats true...even doing that, i was still always one of the first done taking my tests...and i also usually got an A.
in normal style lettering. who needs cursive? the article is talking about cursive only, which is writing entire words with the pen down from start to finish.
You print your name on credit card slips?
Your point is taken though...that's the only time i ever need cursive.
If it's anything like the clause in NDA for some beta testing I did of Eve (mmm... Eve), it applies for a set of ammount of time after employment ceases. In the case of the Eve beta I'm not allowed to develop an MMORPG for another year and a half.
But that's my point. The contract that states that has been nullified. How can a clause from a nullified contract still be in effect?
I prefer to just say something along the lines of "can you explain that in detail?" and then gently set the phone down on the counter and go do something else for a while.
I'd rather not have what i was doing interrupted to go answer the phone and do that...ever in the middle of thinking through a programming problem? Ever have anyone interupt you, and you lose your train of thought?
1) Non-compete clauses apply whether you quit, resign, are fired, are laid off, or just don't bother showing up for work anymore.
Always wondered about that...since its part of an employment contract. Since i'm no longer employed, it should not be in affect. The fact that i'm paid is inthe same contract..so if that keeps in affect, maybe my pay will too;-)
2) Non-compete clauses generally prevent other companies from employing you, they don't prevent you from doing stuff on your own.
Since i doubt the other companies agreed to this when hired, you're wrong. Unless you happen to misword it, and meant that they prevent you from applying ot other companies..
You're an idiot, troll, or both. There is not such thing.
sounds like a good business opportunity. until the next method for mass marketing comes along.
The telephone network is a public resource..just like your forests and parks. Think its not? Check how hard it is for a telco to actually be able to deny someone service. Even if you have no phone service to your house, they must provide a line that can dial 911.
Besides...someone that pays for their land can dictate who may come up the drive. Why can't someone paying for phone service dictate who may call them?
i'm curious; where's that law requiring property owners to have a mail box on every property we own? i know of lots of small cities where the mail isn't delivered, but everyone has a box in the downtown office.
This works out to approximately 665,570,793,348,866,943,898,599 IP addresses per square meter of the surface of the planet Earth.
I live in the 3rd dimension, and have 2 families living directly below me. Also keep in mind that the population of humans is growing pretty fast...so it may be possible to run out of IPv6 addresses too. How soon, who knows...but saying that it won't happen is like saying no one will ever need more then 640k of memory..
the employees said they were model employees unti ljust after they reported what they found.
Its been a few days since i read the article, but i thought they had performace evaluations to back up thier statements. At least, thats the impression i was left with.
Why don't you all watch that piece of crap daytime soap that centers around the "vampire mythos"?
Dark shadows? I actually do like that show...but its not as good. If you watch closely, sometimes you see a stagehand closinga door that shouldn't have bounced back open...
I'll bet they were problem employees who didn't exactly handle themselves with maturity throughout this particular ordeal and were terminated WITH CAUSE.
If you read the article, you'd see that they were infact model employee's until JUST AFTER they reported what they found.
I dunno, i'd be willing to bet that after a few years with 18c coins, everyone would be really good at multiples of 18. You know best what you use the most often.
I don't like people telling me what to do with something i bought, so i'm starting not to buy things that include them. In a few cases, i've actually pirated a game b/c i knew it had DRM, which actually interefers with gameplay.
Um, i think radio stations have a handle on if you're listening or not. Otherwise, no station would ever change from failing format.
While i'm not exactly sure how they figure it out, i did once get a phone call that asked which stations i listened to, and if i liked certain clips from songs.
Of course, thats exactly why i stopped listening to FM radio. I have an mp3 player and 6 disc cd changer in my car, i have no reason to. The only radio i listen to anymore is KYW, for traffic reports.
Considering the security record of every product they ever made....why should we believe that 'trustworthy' computing will be any different? Because they said so? Please..

What about a company saying 'don't buy our competitors product, b/c ours will have xyz when its released in a few months'?
If its really important, you'll make sure it doesn't 'accidently' get thrown out.
In this particular case, its clear they meant to throw the patterns out.

I'd argue you gave up your claim to it when you threw it out..

You're required to have that box to i believe.
As I've said before, if enough people did this, there would be no need for a do-not-call list.
i have better things to do...i'd rather they just not call to begin with.

Funny, i noticed when D3 alpha dropped to 3 fps..

It'd be kinda pointless...while demons would still be around, they'd face, um, a HUGE problem getting anything done...
I'll bet they were problem employees who didn't exactly handle themselves with maturity throughout this particular ordeal and were terminated WITH CAUSE.

Wait...putting reporters in combat units where they can show pictures of dead Iraqis and document U.S. atrocities is a BAD thing?
Except i really didn't see any of that going on...
So if it were legal to dump toxic waste in a park, that'd be an ok way to raise profits?
I think you need to have your head examined. Greed is always ultimately destructive.

Don an Mike are about as funny as dirt.
:-(
Opie and Anthony, now they were funny! Too bad they got fired

Why should 99% of the people have to pay because 1% are fucking it up for everyone else?
