Maybe. Or quite possibly others are using this to push through laws they would not have been able to pass before. Seems like everyone is trying to use this attack to further their own goals...

Well...its possible they were playing on words. But the bomb threat was to keep the passengers in line i imagine.

1. Maybe they didn't know it was intending to crash...just fly over. Also, is it wise to hit a plane witha missle when its currently over a heavily populated area? I think the wreckage of a plane exploding midair over residental areas would be alot more damage then letting it crash into the pentagon.
2. The terrorist supposedly told the passengers they also had a bomb. It seems that for the 3 planes that hit the passengers probably didn't know they were going on a crash course, and were told they would not be harmed. Given that they were probably hoping for the best. Supposedly the 4th plane crashed in PA b/c the passengers DID find out they would be screwed either way.

Its quite possible they see ALL americans as non-innocents. Just as many people here are now blaming all arabs/arab countries.
Kind of ironic, if you think about it. Its of little comfort that most americans seem to be more then willing to sink to the level of the terrorists.

I agree. And i don't think we deserved this either. Quite frankly i don't think there's ever a reason to take someone's life, and the attack was (is) horrible. However, just b/c a few fanatics decided to take matter into thieir own hands, does not mean that maybe there's a ligitimate complaint out there. And before everyone starts saying all arabs are responsible, i'd like to remind them that the Nazis said the same thing about the Jews, and IIRC, even said things like jews eat children.
That being said, what really scares me are all the people saying we're at war. We're not, there are no armies invading and smashing our entire nation. If we were at war, i think all of NYC would be in ruins. War and terrorism are not the same.
For everyone calling for war; i don't think you really want that. Most americans don't know what its like, we have not had a war fought on our soil since the civil war. And modern wars have always been 'over there.' I guess i'm saying be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. I for one don't want any more americans dying because of this.
I dunno about that. Listening to O&A yesterday afternoon and the Stern show this morning, just about every caller was calling for blood. Those that didn't were ridiculed and not allowed to explain their side of it.

The arguement i read also seemed to imply that you have a right to travel ON YOUR OWN. For example, if only the government would take you from place to place, then you could lose the right to travel if they decided they didn't want you going anywhere. Kinda like having the freedom of press, but not being allowed to distribute what you publish...
All in all i haven't decided if i accept the arguement myself, but it did get me thinking, and i just wanted to point out that its out there. At any rate, there are rights that we have that are not spelled out in the Bill of Rights.
I shouldn't be pulled over at all. That was my point..

Actually there are some that would say the ability to travel is a right using the common vechicle of the day.
At the very least, in the US you are pretty much screwed without a car unless you live right in a city. Anywhere else, and you're basically required to have a car.
No, @home only managed the network arch. and such things as running dchp servers. You still payed comcast for the service, its just they were outsourcing the network managment stuff. However, they are now taking it on for themselves.
WEll they're also providing the connection...so it doesn't really matter what they do with the portal. Theyjust want to keep their customers happy, and not change things too quickly.
The problem is, what if i just want an ftp server for my person use? Yes, i have found having that ability to be very useful. Why not just limit bandwidth to something reasonable?
I see. So its my fault someone is calling me. I guess i should ignore friends and family calling me too. There are some interrupts to my dinner i don't mind; calls from friends and family are one. But someone using my phone to try and sell me something is one i mind greatly.

Bullshit. You are more then naive if you think prices will drop even IF the system works.
Its like that commercial...'Insurane fraud costs you money.' No it doesn't, b/c even if they found a way to weed out all insurance fraud, I'd still be paying the same price.
Actually it is a public place. Its a place where the general public can go to do something (or just go period). They can't claim they are private if the whole purpose is for people they don't know to come in and buy stuff. Nor is it any kind of club, since there's not requirements to get in.
In case you miss the point, consider what might happen if they suddenly said 'no blacks allowed.'
