    Well you'd probably have to decompile it or look thru the assembly code. Not an easy task. My one professor told us of that nasty little trick a few weeks ago, kinda makes you a little paranoid :)

    Too bad, fuck them. Maybe they should have been more careful about thier investment funds, and not put them into something that has so much potential(and probably, now realized) risk. If you take a risk and you lose, its your own damn fault.

    Metallica has become the biggest bunch of sellouts ever. Anyone notice something funny about Lars Ulrich comments; "[it is] sickening to know that our art is being traded like a commodity rather than the art that it is." Sorry Lars, i wasn't aware that making millions of copyies of your cds and selling them at $20 a pop wasn't trading you're art like a commodity. Also, i belive the article is wrong; i think its illegel to circumvent copyright PROTECTION SCHEMES. Otherwise wouldn't VCRs, tape records and the like now be illegal as well? They can be used to circumvent copyright as well. Fuck metallica, may they now go the way of Semisonic...another band know one knows exists anymore.

    Hmm...i'm inclined to think that alot of people don't understand the COS, and so believe that maybe its just misunderstood. Personally i've never really heard of the COS before (well, i've heard their name 1 or 2 times, nothing else). Does anyone have any actual proof of what they do and who they are? And some bitch ranting about how evil it is and posting "supposed" facts won't cut it. From the tone of the page i looked at it seemed that she was blind with hate for them for whatever reason...i'd like just facts, not peoples opinions.

    Isn't that actually one of the 7 deadly sins? In all seriousness tho, greed is attempting to gain physical materials at the expense of all else. Usually this is considered bad. Lying, stealing, cheating, murdering, stepping on your mothers toes usually are viewed in a very positive light. I pose this question; if it is not ok for a human to be greedy, why is it ok for a company; a company being a collection of 1 or more humans working together?

    Personally i mind everything. I believe i have the right to be left alone. If i didn't say you can't communicate with me, i don't want you to. Personally i think anykind of junkmail/spam should be dealt with like so: you mail me once, i should be provided with some way to tell you to fuck off. If you mail me again, i can put you out of buiness, or take everything you own. Ah that would be nice. :)

    Ya, yoiu probably think 640K was enough memory for everyone too...keep in mind, the size of software keeps growing too. Also, maybe joe average won't want it, but i know a company that already has 200gb of data...they might be intrested.

    Bullshit, the search engines 'bubble' certain sites up to the top, not because they really match what you want, but because some big company pays yahoo or excite or whathaveyou to make it happen. Most people don't look past the first few hits, if even the first page of hits. So a company can buy its way to the top, pushing other (most likely more relivent sites) down...which the average user won't even bother to see.

    Whoa, thats some dangerous thinking. And actually i don't believe it is. In America anyway, each individial has the right to own property, and you CANNOT take that away, not matter what. Otherwise its hardly a right then, it becomes a privledge.

    oh i forgot to ask you; how many schools are there nationwide, and how many have this problem? I recall very few times when your 'rage-killings' even occured. Don't you think you're overreacting a bit? B/c of a few isolated casing you want to affect millions of people. Try this on for size. Some criminals get off b/c there is not enough evidence to convict them. Well why don't we just get rid of that little requirement. Yes it is the same overreaction that you are proposing.

    How about their parents do what mine did; keep them under lock and key, and teach the child NEVER to touch these. When old enough (dependingon your particular child) teach them to use it responsibly. Knowledge is power, and sweeping things under the carpet never solves anything.

    Heh...ya you got me there. I guess i've fallen to the same trap as most....but thanks for reminding me :)

    Perhaps a representative's salary should be paid from tax dollars (as congressmen's are), related
    to something like the log of the number of people's votes he holds. And these representives could
    'specialize' in certain categories of law.


    Intresting, but i like plato's ideas better. Reps by law may own nothing, they MUST live off the charity of thier citizens. I think that would be the way to go :)

    Obviously you've never read any of my other posts. I am VERY for giving people their due responsibilties. Tell me, what good does it do if i must vote, but i don't like ANY of the candidates. My not voting then would be a protest. Or maybe i just long for the days when who was president really wasn't that important, and gov't only worked a few months out of the year. I believe that is how our gov't was intended to work.

I believe killing is wrong, except in the most extreme curcumstances. Its agains my religion. Thou shall not kill. Sorry, i can't follow that 'law'.

    Isn't that a subtile attempt to force your opinions on me? 'You are immoral so i will not give you a job unless you change.' Besides, what if you did hire me, not knowing i was a cocain addict, but found out 5 years later? Would you fire me? And finally, why do you even care at all? Why not get to know me, and judge me for who i really am? I have friends that do stuff i really don't like, but there are alot of other things about them i do like. So i just accept them for who they are. Now if it starts causinga problem i'll suggest maybe they should not do it, but otherwise i just figure, live and let live.

The only diffence between me and you is i fucking admit what i really feel; you don't have the balls to. I've found that most(not all, some people are really decent) people are selfish, greedy, cowardly little vermin, that IF THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH IT, would backstab, lie, steal and cheat for thier own gain. Just look at how people drive nowadays. They tailgate, cut people off, drive in the wrong lanes, and even sometimes plain force you off the road or into another lane really quick. Its their selfish desire to get to work 1min early b/c they ar too fucking stupid to leave a little earlier. The world is a sick disgusting place. If you think other wise, go live in serbia for a bit. Just observe how loving and caring and tolerent people are. Don't get me wrong, i'd love to change things, but if most people are fucked, that isnt much anyone can do.

    Since gov't gets all its money from the tax payers, i believe they actually belong to the people in that local area (or everyone, if its a fed road).

    That seems to imply that eveyone walking down the street will do something. You know, guilty until proven innocent. Its also an unwarrented invasion of privacy. Why watch me if you have no evidence that i will do something? Don't give me that 'well you might' crap either. Thinking is not illegal, and NO ONE has the right to tell me what to think, no matter how off the wall. Anyway, if you think its ok to monitor, why not embed a chip in your arm, i'm sure you'll be alot safer. Or even less extreme, a camera in your house. Its for your safety, after all.

    Sorry, i don't know enough about running a buiness, and i don't have the capital (and its doubtful i could get it, being a white male). And wouldn't you say thats a little more risky then getting hired somewhere else? You usually don't stand to lose everything getting hired at compusa (or whathaveyou).

    Exactly, why should online sales be taxed by mail order is not. Actually its the EXACT same thing but instead of calling i goto the web site. If mail order hasn't hurt retails that much why would internet sales. Or walmart can go out and do what alot of NY stores do here; pay your tax for you. They don't really do that tho, they just lower thier prices by 8% for the 'sale'. But walmart could do that perminatly. Besides brick and mortar stores have one advantage (a big one, depending on who you are) that online/mail order will never have. I can have what i want RIGHT NOW. Not 2-3 weeks, not 2-3 days, not even overnight, just the time it takes for me to get to the store, locate the item and check out...which is always considerably shorted then 'the next day.' Don't tell me thats not a great advantage, i know how impacient we americans are :)

    News flash; no one said you had the right to be safe. If you're worried about someone blowing up a fed building, well then by all means stay out of it. If you're worried abouta bullet flying thru your window, move or install bullet proof glass. The idea that someone is watching you and that it doesn't interfere w/privacy is absurd. Privacy means your life is private. What does that mean? You (or people you LET know) are the only one that knows! If i want to walk around the city, thats my buiness. A street may be walked upon by anyone, but that fact i am walking on it is my own buiness. It shouldn't be reported to the world. Besides think about this. If you're driving around just to be away from your wife/parents/whathaveyou, do you really want them to be able to find you whereever you are? Of course not! You'll never get any peace :)
