    I know economies of countries interrelate...and to o much of that would be a bad thing, don't you agree? Also, why aren't chips made in volume enough in other contries so that if something happens to one it won't affect things much? You think that its a good idea that all of or oil comes from one place?

    I need to ask...who cares? Like anyone in Europe would pick up the signles generated here anyway. Actually a different standard here might be good..that way maybe we'll produce the stuff in the US, instead of relying on another country. It seems rediculous to me that memory prices rose b/c of an earthquake in one country.

    Ya, i never used those DOSes. I didn't know there was something newer then 3.3 until my grandfather got 5.0. And by the time i got that my dad had gotten 6.22 so i went from 3 to 6.

    Really? Counting the articles today (sun, at 10am EST) until the end of friday, i count 5 MS aricles out of 25 articles total. Now unless im doing my math wrong, thats 1/5 articles that are related to MS. Or 20%. Which if memory serves me correctly, would be high b/c of the MS ruling on friday; i remember days where MS is meantioned once or not at all. So please, enlighten me on how that means that 60% of the articles are on MS.

    This actually does matter, since MS is part of our nerd business (ie, computers). And i'll have to point out to you, there ARE other articles on slashdot. In fact MANY more then the ones about MS. So stop bitching and just ignore the ones you dont' like. Geez...its people like yoiu ruining things for everyone else.

    No, everyone has a right to appeal...i think tho that the previous poster meant they would just agree b/c they don't want to re-investige everything again.

    PS - I think ms stopped making good software once win3.1 came out...dos 6.22 was the only ms product that didn't ever seem to crash (and at the time was the only ms product i had).

    Couldn't you just setup a packet filter to drop everything going out a certain protocall or to a certain place? On a (hopefully) similar topic...if you have linux on a p3, couldnt you watch for your serial number going out in the data, and drop the packet if it is? What would be the chances that real data matches exactly that bit pattern? Anyone? Sorry i don't know the details...these are just some ideas to protect privacy.

    See all the 30-40yr olds in thier minivans or suvs living in suburban usa. They would. Is it me, or do alot of dumb people seem to be on the road? At any rate, these are the people that will pay more. I bet they were (or wanted to be) at woodstock 99 too. Boy if that wasn't a money grubbing event.

    RIT is trying to fuck over its students, except Pepsi will have the monopoly. They want to be the only beverage suplier on campus (bye bye apple juice :( ) Of course there was a rally which no one attended, b/c everyone knows how RIT loves money. Did i meantion RIT will be getting a shit ton of money for it? The best part is any oncampus student function that needs something to drink will be required to get pepsi only products. I'm tired of business fuck them all. They'll regrow anyway.

    I've upgraded a rh 6.0 kernel, wasn't too bad. I know why patching doesn't work now :) Anyway i did the upgrade, it wasn't too painful. I just had to copy System.map from the /usr/src/linux/... to the /boot dir, and relink the file in there (from some resaon System.map was linked to System.map-2.2.5-15 or something). Once i did that, it was fine, and it only took a second to realize what else i had to do.

    Every day I see a little more of what's going on outside these United States, and I have to wonder how the US can claim to have so much jurisdiction in the internet, which is a truly world owned medium. Well, some people say we own it, we after all devised the whole damn thing. Remember the internet is a product of the US Military.

    You would think...but do you remember that blue mountain thing? How Outlook Exp. "accidently" filed any blue mountain cards to the trash w/o telling the user. How odd that the error showed up right after Blue Mountain didn't sell out to M$.

    I dunno about that....mk4 (a cool direct3d/glide game) actually ran much faster on linux then it did in windows. The only problem i had was when the cd went to seek a music track; from some reason that took a long time...but turn off cd audio, and it was much much quicker. Wasn't any machine difference, i was dual booting at the time.

    Support? Ever call MS? At my old job, we had a problem with this query on sql server 6.5...called tech support, they insisted it was us. Then they tried it...they crashed it too. Called us back a few days later...'don't do that' was their solution. You call that support?

    I believe if you are using cat5 cables, they are already shielded. The wire for cable tv is as well.

    Hmm....probably b/c they are decent games, and probably b/c they were released at all on linux; i have a hard time finding all the cool games for linux that i can on windows *sigh* i'll admit, i haven't gotten rid of windows mainly b/c i can't play the games i want to on linux (yet).

    Ya, i wish i knew more and had enough spare time to help out wine. Then i could say, try linux, its more powreful then windows; oh and you can run ANY windows app as well. :) I think people might try itout then.
