Was just commenting, not insulting the user's poetry. Apparently I have a bit more of an accent than I thought. (Why bother being an Anonymous Coward, I wonder?)

Funny, yours didn't seem to fit when I read it aloud, because I say "poem" with one syllable.

    Your mom is addictive.

(And similarly, everyone knows it's addictive, just like how everyone knows your mom is addictive.)

But seriously, you'd think scientists would spend time and money on something more useful, say, AIDS? Or perhaps the mental illness that causes people to want to blow eachother up?

Then again, anyone who's a programmer understands the sweet joy of doing boring work. Maybe if everyone knew how to enjoy working and accomplishing.... *ducks thrown tomatoes*

  5. A little ahead of the game, aren't we? on Using Games to Improve Medicine · · Score: 1

Dude, they can hardly make a game that doesn't suck, let alone one that actually accomplishes anything. Maybe they should get their priorities straight.

  6. XP is X-P on Windows Fails 8% of the Time · · Score: 1

I never have problems with Windows. Ever. You should all be ashamed of yourselves for ever doubting them. And 8 is way less than, say, fifty, so it's nothing to get in a tizzy about. Right? Right?!?

But really... is anyone that surprised?

  7. Speaking of Sephiroth... on On Making Videogame Heroes, Villains Realistic · · Score: 1

I've been saying for years that in the next Final Fantasy, you should play the antagonist. You know, you go the whole game trying to save the world, but in the end you realize you're the bad guy....

Then again, I think when they reach FFXX, the would should blow up after you save it.

But this discussion brings to mind what most game discussions do - the most important factor of a game is that it's fun. If it's got terrible graphics, no plot or development, or any other lesser quality, who cares? If you enjoy the game, it's a good game, that that's ultimately what sells.

Probably because they're still a big, faceless corp. I think we all feel a little bitter towards BFCs, because somewhere in the back of our minds, we know we're getting screwed.

  9. Missing the point? on From RPG Shortcomings To A RPG Renaissance? · · Score: 1

This is why I hate hate review things. The reviewer is talking about something that - personally - I don't care about. What I ask about a game is, "Is it fun?" That's all that's important.

"Unlike most games, there is almost no skill required in RPGs - no hand-eye coordination, no button-timing" *chuckles* They make it sould like we're LOOKING for that in a game. I don't know about you, but I'm looking for entertainment, not exersize.

  12. No kidding! on Study Shows Word Of Mouth Makes, Breaks Videogames · · Score: 1

This is sort of a "duh" concept, isn't it? What sells a video game? If it "looks cool". And to find out if it's as cool as it looks? You ask your buddy, who's already played it. I wouldn't trust some bozo in a magazine or on a review site, because I want a personalized response.
