    As far as I'm concerned, so long as they learn the local language and customs ... anyone who can use an apostrophe correctly is welcome to become a US citizen.

    Hell, I played Quake on a min-spec Pentium with a Voodoo card within days of release and that was the first ever game to actually MAKE people into "gamers" to buy an upgrade card that serves no further purpose than to play games faster (back then, it was necessary, though unless you wanted flickbook framerates).

    I played Quake on a Cyrix DX4-100 (overclocked to 120Mhz) with a standard SVGA card.

    Sure the resolution as lowand the frame-rates wern't spectacular, but isn't that your whole point? You don't need to buy top end hardware to play games. You can get away without upgrading every few months if you are happy with not having the best graphics.

    Well, yes, that;s not such a bad idea. Have two media servers - one open and one locked down.
    Perhaps a third one too ;)

    What state would the third one be in? Open and locked down at the same time? Is that the set-up that Schrodinger opted for with his media?

    I install my OS and my apps on a fast 120GB SSD. That fits pretty much everything I want; the OS boots fast and the apps load quickly. My Drobox folder (5GB) also goes on this drive which is where most of my important documents are. All the stuff that isn't speed dependant goes on a traditional hard drive. Movies, music, stuff like that.

    The reasons those sanctions came about was because Microsoft had a near monopoly on the operating system market. None of the companies in the mobile space have a monopoly.

    if someone sells me 1000 pounds of beef and as far as I can measure I only receive 750 pounds then that someone has got 250 pounds worth of explaining to do.

    Maybe you're just measuring the lean meat but your butcher is measuring the fat as well, or he's quoting gross weight and you're quoting net weight? Someone has suggested that AT&T may be measuring packet overhead and the article poster might not be.
