Personally it's a bit of both. 1. a LOT of US citizens suffered under Bush and this is a step forward 2. I like our economy, but because of the crisis in the US ours has taken a big hit, I'd like that to be fixed as well (as well as the US economy)
I think the press brought it up a lot because under the Bush regime, the international relations have soured a lot.
And on a different, but still very important note, there's finally an african-american president. That alone deserves congratulations.

This is utter and utter bullcrap, since the US is a big influence on other countries, mine included, it is damn relevant. So it IS in our interest to have you on notice, do NOT screw it up.
