  1. Yes, but will they use Virgin Olive Oil? on Oil Soaked Servers Coming Soon · · Score: 0

I have seen pictures of a mini ATX system board suspended in veggy oil and run that way for a couple of years, but the connectors on the back of the board were kept out of the oil so he could mobe things around when he needed. I guess the used veggy oil could be burned in diesel engines, but...

My solution to fix global warming if for all the true believers of the Church of Environmental Disaster to stop breathing out CO2....that will fix the problem in less than 24 hours!

U-Haul gets my vote...Their trucks all have 2" hitch, right?

The truck we rented had a 2 and 1/8 because someone somewhere had welded one on. I did not discover the problem till the truck was loaded and the boat trailer with the real 2" hitch would not fit.

Took it back and they would not cut off the bad one even when I proved the hitch was wrong with one of their trailers! All they would offer was another truck...right. I took the truck back to the house and borrowed a grinder from the helpful neighbor next door. It may not have been completely round when I was done, but it was small enough that I could get the boat trailer on it.

  6. Re:The Report on Scientists Offered Cash to Dispute Climate Study · · Score: 0

3 items jump to the front of my mind right off the bat.

    1. The vast bulk of the "Climate Change Science" has been funded by left leaning foundations and think tanks. If you wanted more funding for more research from them you better come to conclusions that they like, otherwise the gravy train stops.

    2. The climate has not been studied long enough or with enough precision to predict with much confidence what is going to happen in the medium to long term. It is impossible to quantify how much of which items humans are doing that will effect change and what direction that change takes.

    3. The Little Ice Age and the Midieval Warm Period are good examples of times when making predictions based on a couple of hundred years worth of data would produce conclusions unsupported by what we know happened thereafter.

My conclusion: consensus of thought by people making predictions based on inadequate data in complex systems they don't understand will yield policy decisions that will seem laughable in the fullness of time. Since this is a Republican administration they are doing this to "protect business" if it was a Democrat they would be doing it to pay off their friends in Hollywood. Right or Left both would be doing it and it is brain dead. 1 If it really succeeded technically no one would bother with DTV. 2 It does not taka a real genious to reverse engineer the technology and have a software fix. 3. Software fixes available would get chased off US based web servers but continue to be available from web servers in foreign countries. The MPAA will do an RIAA BW&M about how this will cause the fall of Western Civilization.
